Reviews for The Goatherd |

![]() ![]() ![]() Absolutely love this; the subtlety of the writing, how much is left unsaid or only gestured at; the slow development of the romance that feels inevitable nonetheless; the non-traditional pairing. Better than 99% of the stuff on this site. |
![]() ![]() very beautiful story |
![]() ![]() ![]() My name is Pip. Yay! |
![]() ![]() ![]() 5 years later... still love it :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() beautifully crafted story! made me ugly cry though a lot! |
![]() ![]() ![]() I cried, this story is so beautiful! |
![]() ![]() ![]() A beautiful ending to a beautiful story. I loved all six chapters of this and I wish there were more. You have this way of writing that flows so smoothly, your words so eloquent. It's never too much, and not too less. The style of writing leaves you wanting more. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This chapter was so sad, it made me tear up a little. But the writing was beautiful, as always. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Ahh the feels :D Your writing is brilliant. The words paint such a vivid picture in my mind that it's like I'm watching the sequence of events happening as well as reading about them. I'm very very impressed by the quality of the work. You should be published. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I love Pip's character. And I love the goatherd's character too. He's gruff but uncharacteristically gentle. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Yes, it moves slow but not in a way that bores you. I like the minute details. They make it unique. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Really interesting start...can't wait to read what happens next... |
![]() ![]() ![]() I'm so glad discovered you as an author. Love your style of writing. This story was so great, subtle but so cute. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Very interesting piece. Stands apart from a lot of what I have read here. Long stretches of silence characterize the storytelling - and it works. Great work. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This was a really enjoyable read:) I found the beginning a bit slow, but you say that yourself in one of your author notes anyway :P but once it got going it was truly lovely. I like the anticipation and the tension between Pip and John- the subtlety of all the various characters reactions when the female visitor tried to give Pip some experience was really well done. And the difficulty both main characters had in expressing their feelings won me over too. Kudos Suki |
