A happy ending to a chapter!

Oh my goodness, I am so satisfied with this one. The entire time I kept waiting to see if someone was going to punch Talon in the freaking face. There are more chapters to go, but I am so GLAD to see that Jace is finally alright.

You built up the suspension very, VERY well. I was so nervous. As many times as Talon escaped, I wasn't sure if he would manage to again. Gray is MY hero. I freaking love him. And now precious Jace is finally safe and sound. Hooray!

I've been reading too fast to think coherently for a review but wow, you've got me enraptured. I see the development going on with Rick in this chapter - that thing I was whining about in the last review? A writer of your caliber when it comes to characters wouldn't have missed fleshing out Rick (and/or his cronies) a bit more, I now realize, so it was only a matter of time before it happened. And I love it.

Talon is definitely a piece of work. Loving how clearly Jace is a victim and the public recognizes it. Not only is he a victim, but he's just a kid. Some authors like to take the route of the victim being entirely dependent on the kidnapper. I an almost/sort of/kind of see this with Jace somewhere down the line, based on what Talon keeps spewing about dependence and whatnot. While this is psychologically a likely thing to happen in prolonged abductions, I think in many cases it stems from the captor's behavior. Some long-term kidnappers grow to treat their victims like domestic abuse partners. A beating here, then an apology, then on to a seemingly normal, even pleasant, relationship until they lose their temper again. I'm no psychologist, but I do read a lot. Yes, the victim may do what they must do to survive, even build a relationship with their kidnapper, but Talon isn't making it that easy. He's being deranged, not sweet. And Jace recognizes that, thank God.

I might not even know what the hell I'm talking about. What I do know, is that I'm going to be up all night reading this story.

New reader here. I absolutely had to stop to express how much I am enjoying this so far. I'm so in love with Jace. how much of a genuinely sweet, innocent yet deductive sort of kid he is. You put a lot of detail into his - really everyone's - physical looks and personality. I really, REALLY, like him.

Which means 9/10 I'm going to enjoy reading about his suffering.

I have read first-person narratives without nearly as much insight to other characters as you have given me without straying from the protagonist's perspective. You don't just say "May is protective," you show it. One thing I could add is that I'd like to have more scenes with how Jace deals with the bullies at school. Like, describing the bullies in detail. Talon is the hugest factor in Jace's struggles, but I'd like to see the bullies fleshed out a bit more too. Everyone here has the potential to be more complex characters, instead of a typical 'bully' and 'victim'.

This is only the first chapter, so it's sort of pointless for me to say all of this lol. Sorry for my review being so sloppy and all over the place. I am honestly in a rush to get to the next chapter, so I'm not paying much heed to how I've organized this thing.

Jace is very strong and it kills me that ge went through all that crap. Talon is one sick son of a bitch and I am glad that he finally got caught and Jace was freed. Kudos to Gray for coming to the rescue, he's freaking awesome! I love this story a lot and I am going to hope for another update very soon!
