Reviews for Dreaming
Erysimum chapter 1 . 10/31/2011
This is probably the first time I haven't been annoyed by the 'only a dream' ending! There was a lot I liked in this poem, so to pick out one or two: the particular simile of rushing air, like 'the softest fur I've ever felt' ...and the personification of gravity as both a monster and a 'gallant gentleman'- it seems a strange mix but the entire poem is oddly unsettling like that, only furthered by the ending - it doesn't have the same relief you usually feel waking up after a dream of falling. It's that line 'this time you die for real' which really stood out to me. All in all, great work :)
