Reviews for Puppy Chow |

Sadwyn chapter 1 . 1/16/2011 I enjoyed Puppy Chow for the way it made an adventure out of a trip to wal-mart, and explained the rule of seven. Reading it reminded me a little of looking at a Bruegel: an earthy subject, not overly romanticized, but quite vivid. I was a little disappointed that the seafaring jargon and talk of the captain faded out after the first four paragraphs, but the rest was certainly quirky enough in its own way to stay interesting. The tone seemed a little self-satisfied and smug, but in reality that probably enhanced more than it detracted. |
this wild abyss chapter 1 . 1/14/2011 This review is brought to you by the Review Marathon. For more information, see the link in my profile. I liked the down-to-earth atmosphere of this piece, because I felt that it fit the more everyday aspect of the content. However, I didn't enjoy the flow and style of the writing, because at times I felt that the author took the longest way around to get to the point, when a shorter explanation would have fit better with the storyline. |
Oracle of Destiny chapter 1 . 1/13/2011 I really enjoyed this due to the sense of humour and also how well you told the story. It was nicely paced because it wasn't too fast or too slow, and also the descriptive narrative style was used vividly. A suggestion is that I found it a little frustrating that some of the paragraphs were bound together in big chunks. A paragraph is like 3-4 sentences long. So, if you were to divide your paragraphs into smaller ones then it will make it a little easy to read. Keep up with the good work :) |
