Anticipation was brilliantly weaved throughout. I adored how Mrs. S intervened from the Davenport's plan to introduce her.

How very telling that he went to town. The conversation between Simon and Mirabelle's mother was mysterious and suspenseful. Emmy might not want to find out all the secrets of the castle, but I do. I adore this wonderfully written story.

Adored how Simon told Emmy not to answer Mr. Verney. Loved how Emmy defended Simon to her visitors.

Loved how Simon became protective of Emmy when Davis arrived. How caring of Simon to let her have time to herself to think.

What a wonderful plot thickening twist at the end of the chapter!

At times heartbreaking, always charming and endearing, but never boring. Beautifully written.

I like how Simon tried to pretend that it hadn't happened. I adore how daring and stubborn Emmy is and the propisition that Emmy has created. Loved how Simon responded.

Revelations about the music room cast light into some of Simon's behavior. I love Emmy's personality and curiosity. The tension between them was beautifully built up.

Mysterious and suspenseful. I love the character interaction between Emmy and Simon. I adore the imagery of the scenes and smoothly flowing writing style of the author.

I like Mrs. Daniels and I love how Emmy had no reservations about unlocking the door and later venturing into Simon's bed chamber to retrieve Whiskers, the cat of the castle. Emmy is certainly charming.

Intriguing introduction. Charming writing style. Emmy is certainably likeable. After reading this story I plan to check out the first two stories of this series.
