I recently logged back in after about 10 years of inactivity, mostly to see if I could find this story and see if I remembered it as well as I thought. I was and I did. And it totally lived up to the memory. This feels like the platonic ideal of the forced to get married trope. All these years later it was still as fun and gripping as it was the first time, and I still desperately want to know what would have happened next and how many fights Sophie and Markham would have had before the end. If the author still gets these emails, I hope you know how much enjoyment your story brought me, and how it got its hooks into my brain this deep.

Please, oh please, oh please, oh please finish this story! It’s so so good and I need to know what happens especially with her father! Please finish, you’re such a good writer!

I really like Sophie and Lord Markham, and their interactions with each other. Very interesting.
Can't wait to see what the scandal is!

Grace has certainly grown in wisdom. Her beginnings might be humble, but she seems to understand the Ton and society pretty well now.

Thankfully, arranged marraiges (for most of us) are a thing of the distant past. I'm glad that you wrote a second story with these characters. Markum is a good man and Sophia sounds like she will be an interesting character to meet. Of course, the Rutherfords area great couple and it is great to meet up with them again.

This story and its predecessor definitely show how much your writing has improved from your earlier work. I look forward to reading more.

This story is fantastic! I love the twist with Siphie and Lady Darnley meeting each other, and then the bit at the end about a new scandal emerging. I love your style of writing and I love your characters. And I'm so glad Sophie's bit an airhead like so many other heroines. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't abandon this. It would be a downright tragedy if it wasn't finished.

I just discovered your story and have fallen in love. I think that you are an amazing writer! Your blend of historical details, culture, romance (if it can yet be called that), and an intriguing plot is outstanding.

That first scene made me really like Markham more than ever. Until now, I thought he was acting as a pig, but this was lovely :) I hope he soon comes to love her and she him!
The earl is so nice to her! I hope many breakfast scenes will follow.
The very short part about Crawford's thoughts was a very nice touch as well. The way you portrait him makes me think of Carson from Downton Abbey. Very reluctant to accept change, but closing new family members in his heart as time passes.
Sophie's very hard on Markham! Thinking that he would have visited his mistress in stead of coming to her. If only she knew!
Scandal? Please enlighten us! I'm so curious to see what happens next. This story is wonderful! hope you update soon!
