|Reviews for Two Months Without Facebook|
| Fictitious-Historian chapter 9 . 8/29/2012
Identity crisis. You're not the only one. Seems to be something that most intelligent people go through. Or maybe the intelligent people that i've talked to have just been REALLY unlucky. Hope you find your way.

Exultant, always a feeling that comes to me after i realise that i've written a coupla pages without realizing where the time went. It is good to read about how you rediscovered that kind of feeling.

I've never read this until now. I'm so proud of you.
That is all. XD

DC05 where was I that day?

That has got to be one of my favouritiest (I know that is not a word n_n )
The Graveyard book was one of the first books I had read since coming to 'T' in grade eight.
IT IS AWESOME!

Although you didn't finished reading those books, at least you have tried and that's the main thing. :) I commend you for not rising to the jeers of other people. That takes a lot of courage for someone to do that when they're doing something different from the crowd.
I used to write thousands of words a while back but I guessed Facebook got in the way for too many ways. Right now I'm pushing myself to write, whether it be poems, one-shots, and even drabbles consisting of 600 words of something like that. And you know something? It is actually working. That's something that you could do if you want to write again.
I too love dreams! I've had some strange dreams in the past and it makes me wonder why I have them and stuff like that.

Don't worry. You will get people like that who will belittle you for doing something different and making a stand for yourself out of the crowd. I know it's hard, but I have faith you can get through this cause of yours. At least at the end of two months you can hold you head up high and prove the jerks wrong. That's my advice to you. :)
The Deltora Quest book series sounds interesting. Actually I might follow your example and do something like read 70 books within 2 months. I want to experience the joy of reading again.
Ever since June this year, I've been reading quite a lot. The book series that I'm currently obsessed with is the Harry Potter series. I've just finished reading the Half Blood Prince and that was excellent! I have yet to buy Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows, and when I have read that then I would have completed/read the whole seven books.

This is very interesting indeed. I actually quite like the benefits and/or praise of having a Facebook account. I really do agree with the points you have raised here. Like most any other social networking site, there are benefits and drawbacks. The whole points is that you can easily make friends and catch up with friends and family while being exposed to online games and quizzes. A game I used to play quite an awful lot on Facebook was FarmVille. I played that for a good few months until I had no interest in it.
On my DeviantArt account I posted up a poll asking which one is better - Facebook or DeviantArt. Now most people actually said they preferred DeviantArt because they haven't got a Facebook account. Another reason why they prefer DeviantArt is because it makes them feel more productive when it comes to working on their stories and/or art. Some people said that they prefer both because they use both sites according to their needs.
This is what one person said in the poll:
"You can't really compare the two... that's like trying to compare a pencil and a paintbrush. One's a great writing implement, the other is better for art. Same thing goes for Facebook and DeviantArt. I use Facebook to keep up with people and events (since I do get invited to quite a few get-togethers), and DeviantArt for posting art."
And yes, you and I are alike because even til this day I get easily obsessed with things. I go through my obsessive phrases most of the time and I've been told that from others.

Personally, I hate net lingo - it's something that I really don't tolerate, especially when a person does it all the single time. Maybe it's because I've been brought up to respect the English language, or it could be the fact that I have a love of English literature as well as reading/writing.
I used to do other things besides Facebook when I had an account on the website. Like read, write, watching films and other things like that. But Facebook kinda destroyed that for me. I've had my Facebook account deactivated back in September 2009 because I was doing through my own personal hell when I broke up with my first boyfriend. It was affecting me mentally, physically and emotionally. Not only was my account deactivated, I had my laptop taken away from me and I couldn't use any computer.
My parents did let me go on the computer for like 10 minutes or so occasionally. It was so tempting to log back into Facebook, but I couldn't do it as I wasn't allowed.
I'm glad you're back to writing and reading again. I'm also a fan of Naruto. In fact I love watching all sorts of anime.

I respect you for doing this. I'm kinda more or less in the same boat as you. I was once addicted to Facebook and I would spend hours upon hours on it, just not focusing on any writing or reading. I'm also an avid writer and a book worm like you. And now I'm getting back into the swing of writing.
I used to be a fan of Facebook, but ever since March this year I have been a very big fan of DeviantArt and that has really helped me a lot. Instead of wasting my time on Facebook, I spent more time on DeviantArt in which caused me to make more friends and also create more.
At the start of this month I decided to deactivate my Facebook account. A few days ago I reactivated it again to check on a few things and absolutely nothing worthwhile was there, so I deactivated it again. I have no idea if and when I will return to Facebook again. However I certainly don't miss it any longer.
I'll continue to read on and find out how you have coped. :)

That feeling about not being able to say reading is your hobby? I had a similar experience when I was asked how often I wrote poems/stories outside of school and had to say "sometimes" instead of "often." I used to always write, and now I never do... it's something I really need to get back to.

Nice quote! This journal is so inspiring :)
| MarthMarie chapter 5 . 5/2/2011
This journal makes me so happy :) I don't know, I just feel super happy when I read it!
And awesome to quote :)
| MarthMarie chapter 4 . 4/28/2011
Nice quote! And yay for reading two books before midnight!
| MarthMarie chapter 3 . 4/28/2011
"The bookworm doesn't read anymore. The want-to-be author doesn't write anymore. The girl who hated conformity – conformed."
that basically describes me, which is scary. I can't wait to read more of this!
