that was pretty cute, and well-done sex scene, by the way. you always include good characterization details, every scene helps us get to know the characters better.

But, at the beginning of the chapter, i didn't understand why Eli got huffy. Was it because of Ajax's pursuing a law degree? like, Eli's life is hidden in the shadows, so he's sort of counter to the law?

umm, don't really know what to say other than that it was hot ;p i also really liked their conversation after the first time, poor eli xD

whoa, smutty mc smut-smut. which is always enjoyable, but i hope for some plot progression next time.

Is this even better than it was before?

I'm afraid to compare, but it seems to me that there's more sophisticated nuances in Jack and Eli's negotiations around sex. I like Ajax like this - not really a masochist, but turned on by something about the intensity of the experience. And I continue to like Eli like this, though eh seems more human, less feral and less fey than before (and I thought I liked him for exactly how feral and fey he was).

sorry to hear you're in a rough patch. my mother died when i was 18, and, as they say, there's no real time line for dealing with it. especially if you don't have the best relationship with them.

i also have a depressing story that readers occasionally solicit more chapters about. it's hard to write because i need to have my head in that space to get it out, and sometimes i don't want to think that darkly.

He's all about contradictions and denial. like when he automatically thinks "God, he smells good," but then "Fuck what is this?"

Nice organization- I like the little snippets (like the little hasn't-read-the-Hobbit bit) that add to and are interspersed in the main story. Cute, add characterization, or abstract stuff that just wouldn't flow well in the rest of the story

I'm still super confused though. It's nice that we're limited to what Jax knows, but it's confusing as hell! At least there are fun surprises, like soul suckers...
