This was my favorite stanza

They hang like streamers from the gunwales

From the portholes and starboard

And they swing in the breeze like

Morbid, pallid marionettes -

I wonder why they had to die.

Morbid, graphic, and wonderfully well written. I feel like you took a page from Magritte, because you've definitely challenged my ability to interpret literature.
