I'm going to assume that your poem refers to the recent earthquake in Japan and I completely agree with you. So many people are calling it that, retribution. For what, World War Two?
To the people who believe that, every human is in no way responsible for what their ancestors have done in the past. The Japanese people who lost their homes and lives in the earthquake were not the Japanese soldiers who invaded China and Mongolia. They were humans, like you or I.
If your mother was a murderer, do you think it would be just to put you through what the Japanese have experienced, "retribution" for your parent's crime. Just to knock it out of you, make sure you don't follow in her footsteps.
No, I didn't think you would.

Another great poem!
Like you said Yesterday we all are sinners since we are on human race.
I have to say I think it's true. No one has sinned as much as us and yet no one has the power do as much good as us.
A dual relationship...
Your poem rigs especially true in the face of knowledge of evolution, we all share a commOn an encestor.
