![]() ![]() ![]() Oh, wow. How did I not read this before? I love the turnabouts in this piece - good/bad, life/death, beautiful/horrifying. I also love the repeated image of mother and child, particularly in "Like a mother to her child, / it buries us alive." That line was unexpected, and very striking. I feel like there's a lot going on in this poem that I don't understand, but in a way I also like how open-ended it is. It's thought-provoking. |
