| YasuRan chapter 1 . 10/16/2011

Wow, each verse just hits you in the face with those unwelcome truths. Yes, we do welcome the sight of our bare bones like voyeurs whereas any extra layers makes us 'fat', outsiders who wish to remain as such. It's a theme so redolent of modern times and set in kind of beat that is so infectious. This makes it hard to forget.
Love the bitter tone, laced with melancholy. It's a subject matter certainly deserving of that.

oh my lord.
the mania is palpable. the hysteria, like you called it. it's frightening, but in the best way. it's horrible and twisted and dark and macabre and i love it so much, i swear. it's completely and utterly gorgeous.
'but careful - careful -/ if you show off too much -/ if your hipbones jut too far -/ they'll turn on you. lock you up./ feed you carefully counted calories,/ fatten you up so they can/ eat you alive.'
brilliance. purely and undiluted-ly raw and real and harsh and oh so wonderful.

scathingly powerful stuff. the slight dark humor gives a good balance to the real and guttural pain.
"so watch your back
(the spine sticking out oh-so far)
and don't let them see you
counting your ribs like stars"
love those lines
