Reviews for Modern Goddess: Trapped by Thor |

![]() ![]() ![]() I love this story! I also coincidentally have a love for mythology sooo this story makes me very happy. :) I like the plot a lot too! Hopefully Thor can get off his high horse and be nice to Oficina. :D |
![]() ![]() ![]() Oh goodness. Once again, I've fallen in love with one of your stories. Very interesting concept, and nicely executed. I'm definitely looking forward to the next chapter! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Whoawhoa this was really interesting and funny. I hope you continue with this story and update more. Will definitely be anticipating future chapters :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() I love how the story's progressing. I normally really like your male leads(Cause they're swoon worthy), but Thor is such an ass he irritates me. I love it, I take far to much pleasure in not liking him. He's the fictional version of the reality star you love to hate. Now I'm sure at some point my opinion will change but for now this is far to entertaining. Hope you had a good day. |
![]() ![]() ![]() WoW! :) Great story so far! :) And I really enjoyed camp, thanks! :) I have established the connection on my side. :) I can't wait for the next chapter to this story! :) Peace, Love and Happiness! :) ~Bubbly Girl |
![]() ![]() ![]() [Thor raised a lip and snickered coldly. 'Indeed, I assume this is all the attack you could muster - while some gods wield a fiery sword of doom, you bump into people from behind to command their attention.'] LOL, he's so over dramatic. ['I hope you don't accuse little old ladies of attempting to mount vicious rear assaults on you with their rods of power when they nock into you with their walking sticks.'] knock** and LOL As annoying as he might be to her, it does lead to amusing encounters, even if she doesn't see it. And she keeps getting caught up in the details of who he is, eh. hahah, I mean, she bumps into other gods but he is the only person she seems to lose herself in the details with. But I guess when you mere presence commands attention, for someone who is detail-oriented it's probably hard not to pick up the smaller details. ['Staring does not win battles - only action does. If you are going to follow up on your pathetic attack, I suggest you do more than blink at me.'] LOL [I dearly wanted to smack the blighter in the face, thought I'd probably have to run into a cafe and get a stool to help me reach high enough.] LMAO! I have to say, for someone who doesn't like Officina, he sure seems to have spent quite a bit of time thinking about what she does on her off-time. [I was a goddess, and I day-in day-out, I dealt with other gods and goddesses] don't think you meant to put that extra 'I' in front of day in day out. And Thor makes an interesting point although I don't think she actively means to avoid other gods. She just seems to get caught up in the details of other things and gods just don't seem to interest her enough. Although I do find it interesting that she lives in a city that so many gods are attracted too when she seems like the type of person who'd keep her business life separate from her home in every way. For someone who doesn't want to be a part of the god scene you'd think she would have chosen to settle in a town with a smaller god presence. And I find it ironic that the goddess of details keeps bumping into people since you'd think she would notice that there are other people around her but because she's so caught up in noticing the details she doesn't see them, lol. I do like the fact that you had the god of Barely Enough in her city, for some reason when I thought of him I automatically thought of war-torn countries or third world ones, even though I know that in developed countries there are people just scraping by. [I nodded, almost wanting to tell him that yes, it was okay to eat.] lol. I really do love how you describe him and Thor, they are total opposites of each other and you manage to get it across so clearly both in their attitudes and their appearance. [Plus, some part of me realised, that would show Thor; I did not shun the company of my own kind. Far from it, I assisted where assistance was needed. And while Thor would be swanning around some god-bar, with any number of goddess bimbos hanging off his arms, I would be helping the needy.] LMAO, yes, because that's a good reason to help someone, hahah, to show you are superior. [I could just tell he was racking his brain for a suitable name, possibly going through everything from Aid, to Charity, to Survival.] Interesting that he is the god not just for humans but animals and insects and the likes as well. I wonder what else is in the storm drains. ['the other being in need are not as needy as I once thought.'] is it 'beings* in need are not', or is it 'being in need is not' [An agreement was close to a fact, and a fact was closer to me than anything cold get.] could* [The last thing I wanted was for Balang - the rather riotous tribal god I'd dealt with the day before - to pop his head out the door, thoroughly drunk, and set his skull necklace on me.] ROTFL! I think going to a bar filled with people who may think you're snooty with a power complex while you're tired *and* hungry is a recipe for disaster. Even if Thor wasn't there, lol. hahah, I can't wait for the next chapter since she is so not a bar going person, hahah. This chapter was quite amusing, I loved the way her voice is and everything is delivered in such a way you can hear her seriousness but it's still funny. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I can imagine Thor/Jupiter/Zeus has to be the biggest pain in the tush to someone as conscientious as she is. I mean, for who knows how long he had free roam over the Earth, and if we remember our mythology [at least for Zeus] he didn't see a rule he didn't want to break. I like that each of his identities are treated as different people. I wonder if he is ever influenced by the persona he has taken the way he can influence those around him. Or if he's influenced by people's opinions on each of his personas. I love the little details you show with things like the god of Barely Enough or the little aspects of Thor that she notices [even if she claims not to care about it], lol, and the fact that she notices the details on the Radish god's outfit. Although, I do wonder why the Radish god was next when it was a forest goddess that Thor cut in front of. Her attention to detail has a tendency to get a bit OCDish when she's stressed doesn't it? Before she said something about wanting to count the ray of lights if she had time but she didn't even though she was in her own home and probably had all the time in the world, but now at work with a long line of people waiting for her she has to try and count the fractures in the glass to calm her down and try and figure out the exact shade of the stain and that sort of thing. I don't know if you did it on purpose but I found it interesting and potentially dangerous since, if every time her world gets thrown off balance or someone makes a mess, if she tries to lose herself in the details she could get stuck counting something unnecessary while the world burns down or something. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Maybe it's because I'm PMSing, but the god of Barely Enough almost made me cry. It was a small thing, but it was very well done. After all, God is in the details! :D I look forward to this story! Brenna |
![]() ![]() ![]() [And then there was me; I stood for details. I couldn't call the denizens of the dead from the underworld. I couldn't command the very oceans to rise up. I couldn't inculcate wisdom into a man's heart. I could however dot my i's and cross my t's. Which made my job perfect for me, of course.] Well, as they say, the devil is in the details, ahahaha, I know that was cheesy but it popped into my head so I figured I'd say it, lol. Especially since her first two examples were along the lines of mass destruction. Although, while being detail-oriented is all well and good and you get things done, why do I have a feeling she might not be as great at looking at the big picture? [Surrounding myself by hundreds and thousands of little facts was what made me feel... alive. It was what made me see the divinity in the universe and, importantly considering what I was, the divinity within myself. The universe literally opened up for me when I had my nose stuffed into a book of weather facts, or an almanac, or a catalogue of engineering tools.] Yeah... she's definitely not a fan of the big picture, LOL. [By the time I made it in the front door, the sun was already setting. It was strange seeing it from so far away again. The Integration Office was located, of all places, right next to the sun. It was also made ostensibly of diamond and glass. It did not, however, ever melt or burn to cinder; it was made and run by gods, after all.] So, the office is just located in space? It's not in a different plane or on a different planet? Does that mean that the other gods are in different universes? For example, Thor, would he have to come from Asgard to apply to come to Earth? Do the gods have to apply only to come to Earth or are other planets also protected by rules on contracts? Does it only apply if the world has sentient life forms? OR if the world has creatures that have reached the stage where they can worship gods? [And while using your god-like powers to create small space-time rifts in your living room didn't quite break them, they did forbid any direct interaction with the human populace.] But then how did the above gods become rich? to make money you'd have to, at some point, get into contact with humans even if it's just to call someone to make them buy stock for you. Or going to the grocery store you'll have interaction when you check out. I think the word interference would work better there. Okay, you answered my question about whether it applies to other worlds. [And I did love to watch. Some of the other gods - like the ever-irritating Thor/Zeus/Jupiter - would prefer to be sitting on a mountaintop and throwing lightning bolts at goats – but they simply had to find other ways to indulge their creative passions.] LMAO. I just love the way she says 'indulge their creative passions' when the previous sentence talks about him throwing lightening bolts at goats, LOL. I do have a question, is there any reason you're including Thor in the Greek/Roman pantheon? I mean, I understand why you'd make Zeus/Jupiter one and the same but Thor is from a totally different mythology. I really like the way we learn more about the world and her character but it flows naturally. |
