Reviews for Mother of Learning |

![]() ![]() ![]() a standing ovation and a round of applause |
![]() ![]() Fantastic! Worth every penny of donation. |
![]() ![]() Found this back in 2014 when I was 13 years old about to enter 8th grade , and now it’s 2020 and I’m a college freshman. It’s been a wild fucking ride, and it’s crazy that I’ve followed this story consistently for 5 and a half years, one new chapter a month to this final, ultimate conclusion that definitely gave some semblance of closure to Zorian and everyone else. I do wish there had been some more stuff in the epilogue from the perspectives of Zach, Xvim, Alanic and Tavien though. Excited to see what you’ll write in the future and the potential sequel! |

![]() ![]() ![]() I once spent three days devouring Mother of Learning during exam season at university. It was worth it. You have given me a great deal of joy over the years. Thank you. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Thank you so much for releasing all of the "I Win" chapters at once. Not gonna lie, if chapters 105 and 106 weren't available when I read this, my reaction would have been very similar to Zach's. You've gotten us readers so attached to your characters. |
![]() ![]() Its a good conclusion, but Ill miss this story! |
![]() ![]() I loved that sort of Giorno Giovanna way of beating Jornak. I suppose you probably won’t do it, seeing you wrote this novel mostly for free, but could you write an epilogue? |
![]() ![]() This paragraph is very confusing, imho it could benefit from replacing a pronoun or two with respective names "His response was a palm thrust that flattened the entire area he was standing on. Thankfully, by that point he had already teleported away to a nearby rooftop." |
![]() ![]() I've mentioned that I like how MoL emphasizes the value of life, even in the timeloop. The simulacra are my favorite example of this, not in the least because Zorian doesn't quite catch on to their independence and its implications until consequences start happening. My favorite example of that has yet to come...but the stuff here is pretty good, too. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I don’t think organj knew about time travel, and Zachs memory was edited so that the soul seizer flower worked on the lich |
![]() ![]() Nicely done! Just leaves the question why Zach didn't think further about Sudomir and Oganj and maybe others that I don't remember who know about the time loop |
![]() ![]() What I don't get about Zach's illusion/fake reality or whatever, there'd be still Quatach Ichl, Oganj and who knows who else who knows abut him who isn't in the city. How can he so easily forget about it? |
![]() ![]() One point I always like about this story is that it goes out of its way to emphasize that Zorian cares about the lives and well-being of those around him, simulated time loop or no. It would be easy to toss in a few token remarks about Zorian feeling bad about all the bad stuff and get back to the consequence-free Carnage enabled by the premise, but you don't go that route, and it helps humanize him (and emphasize that violence kinda sucks, even without lasting consequences). |
![]() ![]() Like the way that the various wins are written up. Nice wrap on the story. Congratulations. |
