Holy cow! This has been such an awesome read. I started the series in June and couldn’t put my phone down. Oh no! I thought there was an update today, it must've been reported/updated. I came here late, as I started reading Mother of Learning a week before chapter 101 came out. I love it of course, and I can't wait to see how it'll play out!

Thank you for the new chapter, it is both leaving me dreading and looking forward to the ending chapter due to knowing the story is so closing to its conclusion.

Hate to repeat myself, but you're establishing lore (starting at the most fundamental, which is pretty generic) while the audience still doesn't know what's happening to Zorian or why we should care about him. What drives him, aside from a dislike of people in general and his family in specific? What stands in the way of achieving his goals? Why does he do what he does and like what he likes? Why should the audience care about this fictional guy when his clearest character trait is "dislikes formality"?

And why are you spending so much time on individual lectures which barely go deep enough into the lore to reveal the general power level of this world's mages? Either your lore is too vague and generic to need explanation, or you don't recognize which parts are interesting, and both are problems.
Are you just trying to establish a "normal world" to break? That's cool and all, but it can and should be done while establishing the protagonist's goals, motivation, and depth, as well as introducing important secondary characters and establishing what makes them important to the story and interesting, foreshadowing the main conflict, etc. And if you can't start in medias res, maybe add a prologue hinting at what is coming.

Not a strong start. The protagonist's motivations are underdeveloped, the worldbuilding is little more than a scattering of tropes and proper nouns, the central conflict is absent, and the focus on all of these things are on what makes the story generic rather than what makes it interesting.
