You made my day by updating! I agree with Carolyn I don't like Allison! I'm scared she's going to be competition for Sennar and Beth.
I am surprised that Carolyn is his wife but it makes sense. I am definitely not surprised she is trying to sleep with him... again. Hopefully he rejects her. Great chapter as always. :)

Sorry I haven't reviewed each chapter, been reading a few chapters each day and every time I've went to review something came up. Amazing story, looking forward to the next chapter :)

So excited when I saw this in my inbox! I sense some drama brewing. This new girl better what her back. lol. Not looking forward to Ted's perceptiveness. Interested to see how long Sennar and Beth can keep this up. But it definitely warms my heart and Mark is feeling that contentment. Can't wait for the next chapter! :)

It's funny, here you are jealous of other writers and feeling so unsure, not knowing that you have other writers like myself shaking in their boots in intimidation(I'd kill to write 3rd person narration as great as yours. Urgh, I hate you—which I only say to girls more talented than me who make me cower in insecurity).
Ah 'mind movies', they're the best, beyond words(pun intended), what every true writer has playing in their head joyfully and constantly, vying so much to capture it to its every perfection and vivid detail. (sometimes I wonder if I'm a writer or a storyteller because writing to me isn't as fun as dreaming up the plot and creating the characters and imagining the scenes playing out)
Here’s something you will have to accept and the sooner you do, the better you’ll be—it will never be exactly how you imagined it, never, because writing is more complicated, difficult, and unpredictable than imagining. It will never go the way you envisioned because writing forces you to slow down your 'mind movies' and endlessly evaluate them logically and break it down scene by scene ,word by word by word by word, and fill in EVERY mundane plot hole and gap. As you know (and better than I) that in writing stories writers have to convince the readers more than they have to show and tell them and doing so requires writers to have to rethink, sort out, redevelop, research, explain, and make endless revisions their story, and worst of all tweak their story's original origins to fit with all the newly filled in gaps and plot holes (which really is the most difficult).
You have to accept that writing isn't capturing, sadly writing is adapting to where you're forced to madly over consider how you want your story interpreted, being forced to focus more on the interpretation than focusing on telling the story, because as you know writing has rules upon rules upon rules that can all be so overwhelming and oh so distracting heeding to every single one (tenses, spelling, grammar, adjective use, formatting, structure, prose, length/novel word count limits, audience marketing, copyright, tropes, etc, etc)
So don’t beat yourself up, you’re a great writer (with killer potential you have yet to realize and bank on) and you are giving the story in your head the best justice possible. Just remember, were don’t know what you know so therefore we don’t know what we’re missing and we aren’t comparing it to the original vision since the writing you put forth is the only vision we have of the story. To the readers its new and perfect as it was to you when you first envisioned it no matter if the story perfectly conveys your original vision or not.
You got your readers more than invested in the story and that’s a lot, believe me. This story isn’t even finished and I think it is leagues better than the all the current official Penguin/Harper Collins/Simon&Shuster published books I see on Amazon and at Target, this story is super good to where I am more eager to read a new chapter to this story than watch new episodes of my HBO shows(and I have NEVER put off an HBO show for any of the $8 officially published books I bought). I’m seriously contemplating paying you to write more chapters(I’m kinda a poor grad student so I could only paypal you $5 a chapter but if I ever win the lottery I’d give you a $50,000 grant to complete this story)

I'd been looking for something different. I don't usually read much on fictionpress, but since it's easier to find a certain type of story than trying to search through already published books, I gave it a shot. I found your story and read it through in one weekend! It's unique, has romance with an actual plot, has intrigue, and is totally addicting. Yes, there are typos and grammatical errors (then/than and to/too being the most common mistakes), but they're looked over easily enough because of the great story that's being told. Besides, I think I read somewhere that these are just drafts, and drafts are meant to have mistakes. I think you're doing a wonderful job and cannot wait to read future chapters! :)
