Thank you for reminding me that night. The night she was lying next to me. She was going away far far away. My heart was churning inside. She had no clue how I liked her. Sleeping next to her I kissed on her hand lightly. I wished she knew. Never saw her again. Never forgot her.
Night Owl 9 chapter 1 . 6/7/2013
I connected with this story. I really did! (This makes me happy because I can barely connect with anything). The fact that you hinted at it being a true story made it even more significant. A criticism: "When you love somebody and bite your tongue, all you get is a mouthful of blood..." , it's a good quote. You seem to have oriented the story around it as a sort of prompt. But I think this quote was meant for a different story. In this tale, the girl is not in love with her friend, but rather is aching to test the possibilities. She wants to try out her secret desires but can only go so far with her courage. So I would've used the quote in a story where the girl is actually in love with a longtime, close best friend but is unable to voice her affections. Either way, the realism in this piece touched my heart. I ached with the protagonist who just couldn't get the nerve to do what she wanted to. I feel like she was secretly yelling at herself for her inability, and agonizing over the fact while trying to tell herself that she could be brave enough.

:'( That's sad. I've kissed a girl, I liked it, but it was only from a dare. Stupid friend who loved Yuri and wanted to make all of us girls make out with each other, I fell into that trap.
Sorry, this just reminded me of it.

I just reread your story and it occurred to me that them being foreign exchange students that the girl left to return overseas, I feel silly for not reading or remembering the beginning properly. That makes it a more dramatic finish and frustrating if it happened in real life. Even if something did happen they would of had the long distance as a major barrier.
p.s. I was the guest poster in the previous post, I forgot to log in.

Fortune favors the brave... I like how this story is realistic as so many stories always end in giving fanservice and would of ended in something happening. It's nice to read stories like this where instead of catering it gives something to ponder over which makes it feel more real and genuine a tale.
