Reviews for The talking goldfish
Diane Carter chapter 1 . 3/4/2022
The Talking Goldfish is somewhat similar to a series of fascinating stories orally told by a junior high school substitute teacher at Herbert Hoover Junior High School in San Francisco, California some sixty three years ago when I was thirteen years old. I believe that the substitute teacher was named Mr. Stevens , a man with red hair and a great mastery of oral story telling. I remember classroom times when Mr. Stevens would be our substitute teacher and he would always manage our class for one day by keeping all of the students enthralled with a fascinating set of goldfish exploits about a fish named Ambrose. The stories were prime examples of how oral language and story telling art can enrich appreciation of literature and especially comedic fiction with good clean fun.
I want to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Stevens for the Ambrose tales that he presented in such elegant and imaginative prose and will never forget Ambrose the Talking Goldfish stories this teacher told. Appreciation for story telling and oral language and comedy was so appropriately presented that today's teachers would do well to learn oral story telling as a means to inspire students. Long Live Ambrose the Talking Goldfish!
