| frouwe chapter 1 . 10/21/2012
This is so beautiful. Everything that happened, every line, was perfect - it shows that you worked hard on it.
She's lovely, very ethereal - as a result, I suppose, of his romanticism. That's what really draws you in about this, the magic, dream-like atmosphere. Especially because it's about something so ordinary.
"Sometimes I swear she throws this city into light." I think this was my favourite line. Goes to show how powerful single-line paragraphs can be.
And the ending is great, too. So full of possibilities.
| Reeech Beeetch chapter 1 . 8/28/2012
It was beautifully written. Lyrical almost, but very now. Cheers!
| FromMeToYouOnYourBirthday chapter 1 . 8/20/2012
This, my dear writer, was brilliant! The prose was so lyrical, it was alost poetry. I loved the imagery and the sincerity of the thoughts. Great job!
| S chapter 1 . 8/20/2012
Such a lovely piece- so much energy in the writing. Loved the deliberate omission of names and places, and the ending was beautifully written. Keep writing, can't wait to read the rest of your work! :) x
| rosieroo chapter 1 . 7/3/2012
Oh Belinda, you write so beautifully! I can't believe I'm only reading this now. And congratulations on winning! This definitely deserves it. It's like you've captured just a moment in time and I love how simple it is in that way. And the way you incorporated Romeo and Juliet was great!
| Guest chapter 1 . 6/30/2012
Loved it. This guy is kind of adorable - and kind of creepy, but that can be forgiven. Keep writing!
| Ceri Anne chapter 1 . 6/29/2012
'Our intents? What are our intents? We have intent?' That really made me giggle! This was really good - although I'm now dying to know what happens between them. Does he pluck up the courage to get her number? Ask her on a date? There are so many possibilities!
| InkWitch chapter 1 . 6/25/2012
Somehow you managed to make a crush on a girl sound dreamy and almost religious. Somehow you managed to make me fall in love with a guy who, if I met in real life and found stalking or daydreaming about a girl like that, I would probably scream and hit with pepper spray or something.
Somehow you turned the ordinary into magic. That was lovely.
You write very well, good grammar and a perfect flow and rhythm of words. I don't have any criticisms to give you because it was honestly an amazing read. Thanks.
| Carmel March chapter 1 . 6/24/2012
Absolutely lovely. Congratulations on winning, this definitely deserved it!
| Jessie L. Star - AKA star123 chapter 1 . 6/23/2012
I loved this! It's the kind of deceptively simple writing I wish I could do (deceptive because I know to write so well takes time and talent). Sometimes people try to cram too much into one-shots, but this was perfectly paced and left me so massively in love with both characters.
One, really tiny typo that thew me for a moment was this one '...that she can take use centuries of literary tradition...', but it's hardly a drama.
Congratulations on your ADoR win, it's very deserved!
| removed123 chapter 1 . 6/23/2012
Lovely, absolutely lovely. No wonder you won the challenge!
I especially loved the ending: "Next time I'll get her for today, well, we passed two milestones didn't we? We spoke. We 's a start." Shows a gradual and true relationship - well done! Not many can display that :)
| Julietish chapter 1 . 6/23/2012
After reviewing all of the entries for Star-Cross'd, I selected your one-shot as the winner for Round V: The Photographer. Congratulations- it's well-deserved. The banner has been uploaded onto ADoR.
To begin with, I love that you used the prompt pic for your story cover! And now onto the actual review: I can't express how much I admired your words in terms of how you described her photography skills. It made me marvel at your writing skills. Goodness, Belinda, I had no idea you were this good...I was enamored by the way the boy spoke of her. I like how you kept their names out of the picture. The descriptions of the girl are wonderful; it made me envision a beauty dancing around the city with a camera. Such a magnificent one-shot. Very heart-warming.
