Very beautiful. And isn't it the sad truth?
I am not American myself, but I'm afraid there are people in my country who are no different from those people you describe.

No flames- but a few grammar suggestions- "to wear" instead of "to wore." I thought it was some European countries that outlawed the hijab- or is schools here too? "bullied" should be "bully." "We want to become." The t at the end of together needs to be an r. I don't know much about the Islamic religion- and regret any prejudice people have to face here in America. The pilgrams who came here for religious freedom came for only their own personal freedom- and made Quakers pay a tax for not attending the "correct" church. Religion in America has always been a tangled subject- and I believe it would be very difficult currently to be Islamic here. I sincerely hope no one flames this.
