![]() ![]() ![]() Cute! Aaaaaw... |
![]() ![]() ![]() WAIT. WAIT A MINUTE. WHAT. WHAT JUST HAPPENED. OH MY GOD WAIT. OKAY SO I'M STILL PROCESSING THAT THIS SECOND CHAPTER EXISTS? LIKE? HOW? I DIDNOT EXPECT THIS? IT'S SO WONDERFUL? BUT GOOD GOD THIS IS THE BEST SURPRISE EVER, JUST RANDOMLY DISCOVERING THAT ONE OF MY FAVOURITE STORIES EVER *GOT A NEW CHAPTER AND GOT EVEN BETTER* LIKE HOLY COW THIS IS SO MARVELOUS! Unf, as always, I love your ability to convey meaning with few words, like, the text isn't super long, but you manage to pump in all this meaning and energy and tone and UG IT'S SO GOOD THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WRITING THIS CHAPTER! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! You updated this story after years! I mean I didn't expect it, but the surprise of it all made it so sweet. When I saw it on my favorited list, I thought, "Fourteen? When did I favorite this story?" but then I made the logical step of reading the summary, and I was like, "Oh! Fourteen!" I love this story. Simon was hilarious and sweet. I laughed when he took off his hat as a sign of respect when stepping into the house. I mean, how thoughtful is that? That one comparison with Thomas and a bear! The image was so heart wrenching, the good kind, squeezing the "Awws!", and "Ohhhs" out of me. I felt wrung and light with this fluffiness. Aaghhhh! I love this story. Then there's Ray and his crying. As someone who can't handled kids, I couldn't really feel for him, but! I do have a mother who's too thoughtful and selfless for her own good, and I just wanted to hug Ray. (I'm also calling my mother after this. So what if it's midnight.) And lastly, the last scene with Thomas telling Ray it's his fault for Mason being a good kid really showcased how beautiful and loving Ray and Thomas's relationship is. I love you, author. (Lemme suck your dick!) P.S If this is sloppy, then mark me a fan! |
![]() ![]() ![]() It was really amazing, you should do a sequel. Please make one this story its incredible and inspiring. I love Thomas being there for Ray always and Ray always worried for his son, and Mason so understanding and loving. |
![]() ![]() ![]() OH MY GOD I THOUGHT I REVIEWED THIS BEFORE I ADDED IT TO MY FAVE LIST AND NOW IT COMES TO MY ATTENTION THAT I DIDN'T THIS IS A TRAVESTY THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED IMMEDIATELY I'M SO SORRY! Okay, so first things first, for me, the most important things about a story are characterization and style. If the characters aren't developed well or are inconsistent then why am I even reading it, and if the style isn't good, that's just appalling. This piece is just simply marvelous. I'll start with your style, because it's a large part of how you develop character. Your style is so simple and elegant, and honestly I'm so jealous of your ability to write like this! It's clear, concise, yet draws me in emotionally. You don't spoon feed your readers, and I love that! The way you spread out the event over such a long period of time, giving snippets of their lives - absolutely magnificent. I love it. So much. That also allows you to show how the relationship between your characters evolves over time, and I love how you've used these little snapshots to build up your characters. I love this story so, so much, and part of me wishes there was more, but part of me doesn't want more because you don't need more to this story; it's simply fabulous! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Amazing… really, just amazing. |
![]() ![]() ![]() There is no way I haven't reviewed this! I read it FOREVER ago. Goodness. I need to get in the game hahaha. Well, regardless of how long it took me, I love this story. It's still so fresh and original. |
![]() ![]() ![]() wow This one so touching and loving. Rays such a good man, he was a good father to Mason. Thomas was and is a good friend, company and support to Ray and it seems that for Mason too. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Honestly? This story is one of the sweetest of those that I've read on this website. The feelings are so honest and true, and I could really feel Ray's situation as well as his struggles, etc with being a young single dad. The dynamic between your characters is realistic and fun to read as well. Thanks for writing and sharing this with us! |
![]() ![]() ![]() So. This is what I've been reading the first few hours of my New Years xD the first piece of literature swallowed in 2013 :D And I'm not sorry one bit because it was wonderful. I love the story first of all. amazing. kind of sad it took ray and thomas so long, but you somehow made it seem perfectly reasonable that way, or even more so: the only way. I then love the characters. My favorite of all being Thomas. How much love can one harness to be as steadfast as Thomas? Incredible character, and weirdly enough, perfectly reasonable. Afterwards, I am in love with your style. I generally opt for a more laid back style - everything has to happen at its own pace, preferably in an as extended time as possible. But you go for a very dynamic kind of story-telling, the fine taste of this style being especially brought up by the short, concise phrases, yet containing the occasional artistic lacery, like a very delicate touch of a paintbrush, giving flavour to the piece. And last but not least, I found a very inspiring quote which sadly, at 4 am I am too tired to seek amongst the many lines, but which, as you may remember, included something about love, diapers and connections (I'll seek it tomorrow and note it down xD) All in all, I've spent a first morning of the year reading some quality literature, for which I thank and applaud you. |
![]() ![]() ![]() It was a beautiful story which began in almost a painful way but grew to be something more than I'd expected. It was amazingly written, and brought out the personalities of the characters so well that it felt real, like I could almost unknowingly encounter one of them on the street. I love the way it was set out, and I love the way it flowed so well. This story, to me, is a quiet treasure that I've been so lucky to have discovered. Thank you for this. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Oh there was so much pain at the beginning of this! I really felt for Ray, just taking all the crap and loving the little baby. And I really loved how you went back later and showed us Thomas' POV (his actions were a little inscrutable until then). I think you showed just the right snippets and aspects of their relationships and lives. They were all really interesting characters. And Mason was such a sweetheart too! Thank you for a great read:) Sukix |
![]() ![]() ![]() loved this oneshot and actually teared up a bit from time to time. I love Ray to bits and it's impossible not to feel like he did lose his childhood but Mason is incredible and all the characters are well written. I especially liked the way you sectioned off the story as time passed throughout the characters lives. Will be reading some of your other stuff from now on! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Wait, I really liked this. like ... we basically got to see Ray's entire life through this one one-shot and now I feel like I've known him forever. I loved the flow and how much he cares about Mason, just. god. And I love how much Mason loves him. I love good parent/child relationships they just make me so happy (I loved the little snippet on Mason in the end, by the way! It was interesting and gave a different perspective on things and it was just. nice.) This whole thing was just nice. I felt like I was going through Ray's struggles with him and I just sympathized with him so much when things were tough and this was really good :* |
![]() ![]() ![]() I absolutely loved it. I truly have no words to describe how amazing this is. Especially the flow of the story. I just loved it. :3 |
