Wait, did I get that right? His mother sold Mitch to a friend when he was 13? I think I hate her even more now... I kinda already guessed there was something like that, but that's just awful.
I guess everybody on drugs reacts differently, so she might be credible. I don't have much experience with people like that either, so I'll probably believe almost everything you throw out there :P It's not that big of a deal, if you ask me, since she doesn't get to tell her own story. If this was a story about a drug addict, I'd want more research etc., but since it's Mitch's and Corey's story, it's perfectly fine the way it is.
I absolutely understand both Mitch and Amanda. It's hard to hate your mother no matter what she did to you. But because of everything she did do you sometimes can't help it.
Stupid neighbours. They should've called the cops earlier. It should be obvious that the mother is on drugs and the children are being raised by their older brother. That should be enough cause to call the police. When you start hearing screaming it's probably too late. Though I'm glad Amanda kept her cool and they didn't find out how much is going wrong in that household.

I can slightly see where Mitch is coming from, not abandoning his mother. I really liked this chapter, as it showed tension between the family, even though Mitch adores them.

Anyway, nice chapter. I like that the romance is relatively slow moving. Anything else just wouldn't be very credible.

I'm not sure I've reviewed this story before but after reading that last chapters and then browsing through the reviews, I felt the need to say something.

Write what you want, if it's therapeutic to do so. I didn't come to this site expecting a perfect novel ready for publication. This story isn't perfect, but what story is? I like the plot, I like the characters, and I get excited when there's a new chapter.

I just feel like some of the reviewers almost feel a sense of entitlement when it comes to your writing and this story. I mean I'm just gonna go ahead and say it, S. H. Marr's review was rude. There was no need to begin it with "Ugh." like you're being forced to read this story against your will. It is not a chore, so stop acting like it. If you don't like the story, don't read it. Or, if you don't like the story but want to still give your 2 cents, write it in a more graceful and polite way. It's not hard to be nice.
