|Reviews for Conviction Verses Opinion|
| Ajax chapter 1 . 3/6/2013
| Danny Barefoot chapter 1 . 2/7/2013
Fair definition of an opinion, but there might be more to conviction. Rather than a still, small voice strengthening us against acknowledged sins, it's more of a traumatic perspective change showing us the sinfulness of habits and personal qualities that seem good to humans, but are offensive to God. Then this certainly motivates us to turn away from sin, with the continuing positive encouragement of the Holy Spirit as you've described. I'd say that we need to choose or will our beliefs (also different from opinions), but conviction (of sinfulness, the existance of God or similar truths) is something we're forced into by experiences (in a Christian context, spiritual experiences). There must be a forum somewhere that would be good to discuss points like this, or you could write it up on a blog? I'm sure it would be very good.
