Oh this is absolute genius. I love the war imagery and how you describe everyone as soldiers fighting for Life. The first two stanzas seem to set the scene of the poem but it's that use of "home" to represent an After Life that is fantastic; there is controversy as to whether an After Life exists because it has never been proven or disproved - but most, if not everyone, wants an After Life because it's comforting that this isn't just "it" that we just don't cease to exist. So it's nice that you captured that doubt and how we know so little about "home" now - perhaps because we've been fighting for too long? I also love how you suggest that we are fighting for Life (but who or what are we fighting off so to speak - death?) That rhetorical question at the end is so brilliant, because sometimes when you fight for so long you start to wonder if it's even worth it. This is so brilliant, I love every single thing. Phenomenal!
