I like the imagery it gives me; of shells and the sea, and you believing in something that eventually wasn't worth believing because love couldn't carry you out to sea. Love isn't so strong, and even if it is, it can't carry you to the sea because you're not a swimmer, so no matter how hard it tries, it can't hold you up. That's what I think of the poem. It sort of means to me that the effort has to be made not by love, but by you, too. Believing and doing are two different things. Anyway, amazing poem!
