I like how he had to take a different route. I like that he saved her life and that they loved each other and were happy together. I like the idea of soul mates and of fate when it lends a kindly hand. This is most beautiful not the pain that she went through just the love that found her. Just the amazing man that entered her life and the fact that her life is now shared with him.
