Wow, I really enjoyed this. I think you have a very unique voice, which is a great thing to have as an author. I also love Aldric. He's very cocky and a unique character. This chapter really intrigued me and left me wanting to read more.

Really do wonder who's trying to overtake their area, I bet it's uncle. It's too much of a coincidence that Az gets placed in the area when this is all going on. But I'm also wondering, maybe , just maybe, you might have the biggest twist where Az is actually the villain and running the show. Or she's in on it and leading Rick to his doom. Really makes you wonder.
