But GIEJG:IJ the scene at the end with David and Mercy was just too cute. Drunken David thinking he messed it up after EFFING ANNIE MESSED IT UP. GDI. While I wanted to slap him earlier for rubbing it in Mercy's face that he was invited as a joke, I felt for him at the end of the chapter because what he did at the coffee shop seemed to really sink in when he saw Annie all over Mercy. Who knew such a chipper boy was so temperamental.

I have this indirect love for Cerberus it's becoming really bad. We see that he's not /all/ death and destruction. Maybe. I still don't know. Mercy struck me as a drama queen when he was all aghast on the porch with Dominik and "How do you know my bro's powers!" , but then I haven't actually MET CERBERUS YET WINK WINK so it's probably justified. And his power isn't registered so HEYO that's an interesting tidbit.

I also really like Dominik. He's like a big, British-sounding chill dude. I like that he seems to be pretty honest to people to kind of make up for his power. I hope to see more of him!

Poor Bentley. AND SPENCER IS A NORM I REALLY DIDN'T SEE THAT FOR SOME REASON. That's probably best with his hot head though or he'd be kicking peoples' ass every chapter lmfao. Sadly, that would likely be Bentley, too. I just made myself sad.

I'm also going to end Spencer mkay. I can't believe you tricked me into liking him the first chapter I am JUST UGH. The only reason he might still be redeemed to me is because Bentley loves him, but that could be because his vision is fogged through that very love. Who knows how this will turn out.

My need to meet Cerberus has grown and I think it's the fact that he's so /bad/. I HAVE A MIGHTY NEED. Plus, what has he done to help soil the family name? What has he done to Mercy in the past to make him so scared? How in the hell do he and Annie have a connection? Can't wait to get those answered because /Cerberus/. I feel like I'm going to like him but I have no idea at this point because Spencer.

UGH ANNIE WHAT IN THE HELL DO YOU WANT WITH CERBERUS. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DOOOO.

I felt bad for Mercy in this one. Assumptions abound, and he just can't get away from that last name. I love his blossoming friendship with Bentley. The butterflies were so freaking adorable I had to squee. What a sweet gesture. His backstory made a lot of sense and made me feel for him, too. Good connections, but with a price.

DAMMIT SPENCER I LIKE YOU LESS.

Also, I know you're probably still exploring Mercy's characterization at this point, but there were times when his voice went from casual, as it's seemed in earlier chapters, to very poetic and British lol. Particularly when he was arguing with Bentley in their dorm room. Just something to watch out for in the future.

Another good one! Left me wondering why Annie wants to see Cerberus, and if that had anything to do with his call/text. Since I saw you fancasted Nina as Annie, too, I can't help imagining Katherine doing the threatening and faux affection xD The mannerisms scream her.

And David with the not so subtle flirtations. Lolol, I like his persistence. Mercy seems to need the extra push. It almost is strange that he hasn't brought up the elephant in the room at least once. Does he know? Does he truly not care? Questions, questions.

No idea what the relationship between Spencer and Bentley is, though my first thought was brothers. Possibly a bad relationship though? I like Spencer, but damn dude, you a sour person. Get yo shit together.

This is where I wish it would let me copy/paste, but the part where Mercy was getting coffee, and noticed the barista was nervous, I think you could have left it simply at her wringing her hands, since that is normally a sign of nervousness. Saying "She was obviously nervous." seemed almost redundant, especially when you mentioned how he noticed her fear in the next sentence, and how she was gawking and stuttering right before. Obviously people at this school are afraid of him, so let the reader put two and two together that she was just like the others he had run into. Just something I noticed!

Great chapter overall, and I am really looking forward to meeting Cerberus. You're building him up to be a scary mofo, and that should be interesting to see play out. :)

You're right, Mercy does have emotional constipation at times. Sometimes he's sure of himself (like with Bentley) and then "everyone hates me, why don't you?" (like with David). It's going to be interesting to see how he develops throughout the story. David seems like a pretty upbeat guy, so I'm excited to see more sides of him, too. What a cutie-patootie.

I'm sure Cerberus is going to make an appearance, and thus makes me tickled pink to see him. I have no doubts you'll make him as frightening as Mercy describes him.

Ahh, plot twist! ohmygosh. I didn't even realize but I had my mouth hanging open in surprise throughout the entire chapter! An/tonio/nie is truly interesting and I think that out of all the characters in here, he has the most potential in terms of character development or motive change. Cerberus , although we haven't seen him much yet, I can already tell he's going to break my heart into a million pieces with every word or action. He's just that kind of character. I don't get why Annie doesn't have a hatred for his dad for the position he was left in. Also, with the fishiness surrounding Annie's mother's death, could dad have had a hand in that at all?

Also I'm confused by Mr Doyle's instant delight in his newly acquired son, it certainly suits his ends to have an eager follower with a good power, I'm sure, but he treats Annie so nicely it made me suspicious. Did he really not know about him?

Cerberus just got more fascinating. He is certainly being painted as the good guy now, but I have to remember that Mercy would quiver in terror at him, so surely he is still a bad guy, who just happens to love his brother (in a weird way), I am VERY keen to know what he's been doing since he discovered Mercy's Annie-problem, and I hope he is on top of the whole situation! He outwitted his dad the first time, so I definitely want to see it again, especially for Mercy's sake!

Poor Bentley, I'm very concerned about him, because what is the maid going to do about the fact that he is still bleeding out?! Unless the maid has a healing power?! The scene with him was truly clever and horrible.

Dad's power is brilliant. And the fact that it doesn't work on family members made things really interesting. Why has dad not noticed before that he could get Mercy to do stuff? And presumably he can't control Cerberus at all, so how does that relationship work? Does he need Mercy to have any hope of getting Cerberus under his thumb? What's going to happen between now and the gala?

I do want Cerberus to rescue Mercy, but I hope Mercy can do something that will impress and show up all his doubters/haters. Also, who is his real dad? Could Mercy have a latent part of his power connected to him that's still to show? Or is he just a random affair of Mercy's mum?

This blew me away. This made my whole day. It was incredible. Twists amazing, characters amazing, I reached the point a while ago that I check if this has updated every day, and this morning I was delighted. I was even more delighted when I read it! It was thrilling, it was clever. Oh man, I can't say enough about it. I wish I'd written it lol.

I am bursting with questions and comments, don't worry, I know you're going to answer most/all of these within the story, but thought you'd like to know what the reader is thinking!

First of all, I love Mercy, and I feel his fear. Also, it was only on reflection that I realized why it would have been extra horrific for Mercy if Annie and he had turned out to be brothers! I'm not sure if Annie has become a very sexual person in habits, and if the general touching of Mercy is just part of that, or if he's actually attracted to him physically. He certainly does treat Mercy like an air-headed doll at times, which is totally unfair given that Mercy doesn't know what's going on and has just been knocked out. Also Annie's anger was potent. I can see why this is directed at Mercy, but he seems oddly un-angry at his dad. Is Annie so desperate for recognition from this 'great man' that he ignores the fact that
