![]() ![]() ![]() I type this in the wee hours in the morning as I ride the bus. Wait...I'm missing something, aren't I? Ah, yes! An introduction. I do love a proper introduction... I'm C. Capitols. Also known as C.C. Capitols on fanfiction. I like to read and write. (Obviously, which is why I have an account here and there). Alright, enough on me, let me get back to the point of this review. A few things were brought to ma attention, and I felt the urge to point them out to you. 1. The traditional Russian gathering will usually have dessert with tea. It's pretty unusual for them to drink coffee with it, it was only the Russians who moved to America took on the coffee craze that Americans are known for. If you go to Russia today, you will see very few actually drink coffee, most can only afford the good old tea. 2. I couldn't help but notice that you used lyubov as if "love" in English. The way lyubov is used in Russian is more like a "I love you" more than "Amelia, love". You could try using daragaya (my dear, or darling), or slatkaya (kind of like sweetheart). The problem with the Russian language is that you can hardly ever just find the word in English and translate it to Russian, it usually becomes grammatically incorrect. That's why they use so many cognates, especially for those more newer words in the English language. Sincerely, a very tired girl wishing to be still asleep on her bed P.S. In case you're thinking, like, who is this chick, thinking she can get all up in ma business, I apologize if I came up a little strong on you. I was just trying to be informative and helpful toward you. |
![]() ![]() Hi. I liked both POV. You swap between the two really well. I like the overlap so you can continue the story from new perspective |
![]() ![]() ![]() Hello there, New reader here! I liked the summary you gave, which is why I gave this story a shot :) I enjoy your writing and clearly, you give a lot of attention to detail. However, (for at least these first two chapters), I find that you give a little too much detail. They aren't super essential to the progression of the story, mostly the driving, pulling into this lane, etc. There are other ways to skim through that and get to the nitty gritty stuff of Amelia's work day. Anyway, I will continue reading though and hopefully this was just something in the first few chapters! :) Keep up the great work and I look forward to reading the rest of this story! -mff |
