Hey its alright if you stop posting and take all the time you need your life is more important than anything else, just don't let that (friend) of yours put you down thats what she wants stand up to her and look her in the eye. Your stories are amazing and your talented dont lose hope in yourself.

I hate the person who is putting you in this state and making you feel so alone and unsure of yourself and others. That is wrong and absolutely disgusting and that person is a disgrace of a human being. I don't know you personally, but you're an amazing writer and probably a beautiful person, your protagonists' personalaties reflect this. If you need an outlet, or support, or anything, please PM me. One of the things I love most about your characters is how they can't really be pigeonholed. None of them quite fit into the common slots usually found in a genre. I especially appreciate this in Vampire Consort since so many modern vampire stories just rely on tired tropes.

Dragos is neither a heartless monster, nor just another misunderstood, brooding male lead with a tortured past. He is a product of his environment in many ways, but is aware of the fact and doesn't just blindly do things. And while he does have moments of kindness, just like in this chapter, he acknowledges and admits that he can't always afford them. The whole theme of masks is a perfect expression of the many facets he has to use. All people put on different personas throughout the day, while at work, at play, at school, with friends, with family, etc. It's no different with him.

It is interesting to hear he doesn't really know who he is at his core, but then again, many people don't. Even if he had some sense of it, putting a concrete definition to it would still probably prove difficult.

I liked the fact that Dawn's faith in humanity has been called into question. There can be no growth without a little doubt and examination from other angles. Also, if she never questions her beliefs, then it seems like she's just following them blindly. I'm curious to see what happens with her convictions.

On a related topic, I appreciated Dragos' explanation of how and why vampires took over. Some writers don't take the time to see things from a character's perspective, especially an inhuman one's. It makes perfect sense that vampires might step in to "save" and "correct" humanity from their own actions. The fact that they're long-lived might indeed provide some measure of stability, and I can see why some might consider it better to have them rule.

I've just started reading this story and absolutely love it! I couldn't stop reading. I so hated Dragos though for biting her and humiliating her in such a way! I do hope he will be the kind king we all have seen in the first chapters. Please don't make us wait to long for a new release.
