Reviews for Auld Lang Syne |

![]() ![]() I’m happy to see this update but I’ve forgotten most of the story. I do enjoy your work tho. So now I’m stuck with the decision of wether or not I want to reread this entire story and get fixated again on something that doesn’t have an end :/ |
![]() ![]() ![]() Very excited that you are back to writing this story. I’m excited to where you will take it . |
![]() ![]() OMG YES! I’m so excited that you updated this haha, I’ve been following it for the longest time, can’t wait to read what happens! :) |
![]() ![]() Please please update this! Ive been rereading the story over and over again and would love an update :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Hello, I just found this story after reading Something Better and Fades of Summer; which is one of my favorite one shots. Anyways, this story really intrigued me from the first chapter. It did not disappoint. I loved how you made each characters personality slightly different from one anaother but then showed the similarities that they have. Reading from Tamy’s perspective does give us a biased view on certain things and I like how you show us that not everything that Tamy’s says or believes to be true is accurate. I really liked this story and hope that you come back to it one day. |
![]() ![]() ![]() ANSEL NEEDS HIS SPIN-OFF! |
![]() ![]() ![]() honestly i really hope they get together, but also, i'm so glad they're talking about the past again and it's so hard. tamy is so well fleshed-out, and so is nik. there's something so innately real about them. like you can feel they're exes, they still care about one another, but we're still not sure, and as a reader, of course i love a good twist, but i love when everything comes to a solution so i'm really excited to see how the story comes along xD amazinggg |
![]() ![]() ![]() This chapter brought tears to my eyes again fuck man that thing nik said you are soooooooo awesome AND THIS STORY will be published. Like lol I sound emotional rn but ur gonna query to agencies and publishing this is so rawwwww |
![]() ![]() ![]() Ansel and |
![]() ![]() ![]() So so so so much tension between the friends. OK lol I am writing in my phone so this review will be a bit shorter but the ending. Shit Lux but man the way they flock over to nik. I am so curious did lux have feelings for nik bcuz tamy feels when she's said yes to nik years ago she was gonna disappoint lux. So curious to know what went down with nik and Ansel too |
![]() ![]() ![]() Lux and Tamy are closer than you'd have thought possible. Nadine is very clingy, for sure, but I think it might also have to do something with the writer showing Tamy's insecurity, perhaps. It's a clever way of showing/not telling that the relationship had a lot of issues - Tamy feeling jealous, Nik doing nothing to show otherwise. That scene is sad, and yet it reveals so much as well. Nik almost playing with her, being cold all second, then happy and passionate. Ahhhh, that sentence is so striking and heartbreaking, "It seems that Nik had gotten sick of me before our breakup." So now, we have a protagonist who's been very hurt, who was very open about her love to the point of jealousy sometimes and even clinginess (I can so relate to that, there's that strong first-love/young-love vibe to Tamy's feelings), and we have the love interest who actually didn't give a shit about her in some ways, because he was going off somewhere and he probably didn't want to be tied to someone at a young age. Honestly, I can understand why Tamy would want to stay away from Nik. It's a harsh reminder, and she'd even been unjustly accused of cheating with Ansel, but I think I'd like to know why Nik was so adamant/fast in breaking up with her, but at the same time, now looking at her as if he wants her back. I think that's the thing with any relationship that's over: you keep on wanting the good parts of it, and I don't think there's every any time you don't think of it without a twinge of regret, what might've been, how things might've been better if that said person changed. (Also, I don't think any of us really like to think ourselves as the perpetrators of sadness, so it'd be interesting when the two talk and hopefully try to change for the better.) I think, it's also interesting that Tamy seems like a no-nonsense type of person, as in she might tell you what she thinks, even though it's probably with only Ansel she feels very comfortable with, but I wonder if Nik has also seen that side of her? (I swear, all my reviews are just me rambling kekeke). hahah, fate is cruel, Tamy having to meet up with Nik minutes before deciding she'll never. OMGGG NIK WEARING NOTHING (I mean except for boxers lolol, poor Tamy or lucky Tamy.) Ooh, man, one thing, though, I read somewhere about using too much ellipsis (is that what it's called) in conversatin. I'm not sure, some people like it, some people say it's weird, so I don't know what publishing ppl think of them to be honest, but I think if in your revision you'd want to let them go, you can easily add a sentence or two about how nervous or awkward the characters are feeling, their conversations always stopping. Nik has dark-blond hairr mmmmmm hahhahahahah Ok, now I'm wondering a little about Tamy's friendship with Ansel, as in, I still think they're friends, very good friends, but it's just so interesting the way you wrote it. We see Tamy feeling guilty about it in front of Nik, and that makes us question her, and it also makes Nik's questioning feel more legitimate. Showing Tamy feeling nervous or sheepish about the whole thing is a great way to move the story forward, because it shows that things really aren't what they seem. (I am gonna need thy's book recommendations hahaha) ooh is Nik a mastermind lelel choosing Tamy's mug and the shirt? haha i swear fate is fucking cruel, the way it screws you up and you're like 'that's so unbelievable of a coincidence.' jkjaljalskjflkda Nik's flirting, Nik's flirting lkajdslkfjda (Ok the handle thing is just too much as in damn dude knows how to make Tamy fluster lolol why am i already feeling he's so grown up and a man now and he'll just whisk tamy into his arms kkeke ok i might've read too many historical romances this last year) hahah "is it just me or is everyone that tense when you hang out?" LOLOL commerzbank aklsjdflkajsdf dude this is like the best ambassador for Germany's tourism hahahah and also I WANT DESCRIPTIONS OF GERMAN FOOD. wait what do you mean banks are never open around here? i'm so interested. in bd, we have the weekends off, but banks are open till six, typically during the week, what's it like in SG? alkjsdkfj Nik: "I am seeing things for the first time." I swear, it just made me smile, because 1.) he was being cheesy. 2.) He was brave enough to be cheesy for Tamy. the idea sounded like my personal version of hell. I NEED THIS SENTENCE FRAMED ON A T-SHIRT. Also, I like this Nik going for what he wants, I don't know, it's just hot kekekek. Amused half-smiles, toned, tanned body, dark blonde hair, piercing blue eyes the color of hailstorms, and also Nik does not come across as a douchebag but he seems very sincere and perceptive. Honestly, I'm rooting all out for Nik hahahha but I wonder how he feels about his past self, and the extent, of course, to which he hurt Tamy. Shit, this is another long review. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Back at it AGAIN BROTHAAA OF ANOTHER MOTHAA! (I should never talk lololol) Ahhh the awkwardness - like every moment/second is this excruciating thing that needs to be over. The way Nik's eyes are described - sawoooon. And he is more of a "hailstorm," this is such a cool way to foreshadow his actions. We know right away they've had and perhaps will continue to have a volatile relationship. Omg, "spoilt" and "honour" - all my learning under the British curriculum followed by a terrible four years under the American. Spoilt can never be written as "spoiled" - okay I am digressing. Hahaha, Nik still has feelings for Tammy, I mean, the way he stares at her almost all of the time. Hehhe, why do I relate to Tamy and wanting to bolt every single time something awkward comes up in real life lolol? The beer thing - Ansel is so like "I am so done with these stupid kids." Wolf, too. Ok, I thought Nadine was annoying, but I think Lux might be the villain, in some weird way, lolol. Ahhh I feel I am right there in Nik's room aksjdjflajsd Ahh, so Nadine does have feelings for Nik, I forgot, i mean she is definitely jealous, and I don't think Lux feels anything for him or maybe she does, but yah, it's always weird when friends in groups start pairing off (non-romantically, in this case) and then the rest of you just wonder, "when did that happen?" In a way, I can understand why nobody would want to say that to Nik, right away, but it's also obvious that the group has splintered and everyone feels it. Why am I getting so mad at nadine and lux lolol? But man keep this up! ahhh friendship drama, man, this is so relatable. hehe, poor ansel, he needs a gf/bf to get the hell out of this apartment, i think, man i swear, i wanna know about him and tamy's friendship and obviously with nik. i mean, the fact that ansel feels such anger toward nik, you know something really, really serious happened. ok i feel like i am now ansel stuck in the most awkward situation - having to give up half of your apartment to your old pal who mistrusts your every move. HAHAHAA siemens, i swear if that's not German enough, if anyone is wondering where stuttgart is. I mean, my uncle worked there, his daughters worked, i've seen more siemens in my life in germany than anything lolol it's just making me laugh xD wow wolfie is brutally honest, but this is a great way to show that our main character isn't as innocent, that she probably made mistakes and i think she is more flightly than she likes herself to believe. I don't know whether wolf believes in the cheating thing, but I think he believes more than Tamy hurt nik a lot, instead of Nik hurting Tamy a lot, if that makes sense. That last sence was so cryptic and cool. Wolf saying "it's not over for you" but then saying "you have to let it go." Wait, is he talking about the love/hate? something more? Wow, this is a mess of a review, but writing was amazing - I think right amount of descriptions, dialogues are on-point, and while I think it seems like and is probably true that Tamy and Ansel are just really good friends and nothing else, you can really see Nik's insecurity come through, and it's also interesting that he has a leadership quality about him, that others (ok, the girls mostly) flock around him. The group dynamics is portrayed really well, and I think, I'm really glad we have a protagonist who has done her share of the hurt (it seems like) and her response is not to have a confrontation about it (so real-life), but I feel this story will draw on that. Am I rooting for Nik and Tamy and a second-chance romance? YESSSS but i wanna see how they go on doing that, and what would happen to the group? alkjsfdljadlk (thy can turn a beautifully crafted romance into a mystery as well) |
![]() ![]() LOLOL bro ok i logged out and can't get in but this isn't me fishing for reviews for my story lolol no no no like nope hahaha. I GENUINELY fucking loved reading this and i am JUST SO INSPIREDDD because i am in a writing and reading phase right now and yup |
![]() ![]() ![]() (OK first of all, i should say it's me man from ma new account, forgot to log out of it lol, being weirder than usual and I swear I'm going to write everything on Twitter, AND HAPPY NEWWWWW YEAAAAAAAAAAAR, I keep on rewriting my applications, and being the laziest piece of shit in the world but I AM BACCCK IN FICTIONPRESS WOOOOO-HOO.) OMG I am in the mood for re-reads and I swear to God, DUDE, your writing is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELEEEEEEEEENT. Like man, I was reading it and this felt like a published story and I'm lately finding myself unable to read things online in my laptop screen (becoming blinder than usual kekeke) but man I can't put this down. I AM GOING TO CONVINCE YOU (or try my best) to finish this story for 2019 because dude re-reading this after a while again made me realize how much i loved and enjoyed it the first time, and how much i am still ABSOLUTELY FUCKING LOVING AND enjoying it. I mean, your writing has SUCH AN ASTOUNDING Jhumpa Lahiri and a Kristen Roupenian style - like anything you write, people will read it, I swear. I'm not making this up - your stories and writing has that viral, spreading like fire everywhere quality. It makes you feel you are there with the characters, the characters come alive and different with their voices, I could hear Nadine's shriek and barely concealed jealousy and clinginess, Tamy's anger and retorts, Ansel's refutals, Lux's enthusiasm, Nik's quiet appraisal of the situation, Wolf's silence and a way he handled everyone when they were going to Ansel's place. Like man, this is aweeesome and I'm back to stalking your stories kekeke and haha I think right now, I'm relating to Nik so much. Coming back after 4 years, seeing the place with new eyes, and seeing the group disintegrating. And, the writing is such a homage to you reading so much mystery and thriller because there's a great mystery behind it - Nik's gone, the supposed cheating? And MAN, I MISS GERMANY SO MUCH BECAUSE OF YOU. I WENT THERE 5 YEARS AGO. THIS REMINDED ME OF WHEN I WENT TO STUTTGART - THE TRAIN STATION, THE TRAIN STATION, THE TRAIN STATION! AAAAAAAAAAAAARGH! (OK I AM BEING WEIRD) BUT I AM JUST SO HAPPY I AM READING THIS AGAIN and I'll try to say whatever else I feel more coherently for the next chappppiess. |
