A good second installment. My only quibble is whether a hardened rumrunner would cry under any circumstance, even the thought of his family dying. I think he might be too hardened for that. He might internally worry, but I don't think he'd cry. Make him act desperately instead.

I love the Voice you've established with this one! Definitely appropriate for your protagonist. I could picture the car chase and the bullets flying. Excellently written!
