Hello there!

Thank you for this wonderful story!

I loved the story. And I liked the development between Daniel and Jaden. Though fast in terms of feelings, it still didn't happen in an unrealistic way. And I liked that pace.

I also loved how they tried to overcome the challenges they went through. Though both of them did not make the best decisions in their attempt to solve each challenge, they did it in the best way they knew how. And I've gotta give them credit for this; afterall, they were only 17 and 18 years old.

I just found it really sad that all members of Jayden's family had to die. That was really brutal but then I guess it's for more impact among us readers. That really had impact by the way.

Fifteen years is a long time but hey, who am I say to say that when mine, in real life, is practically 20 years in the making? I still have yet to experience this reunion and much needed closure.

TwistedInkIncorporated chapter 1 . 5/22/2018
I just completely binged this story from start to finish in a single day. I don’t really know what to say. I feel like I’m going to throw up. It was so utterly fantastic and beautiful. There were so many flaws, like you would state something as a fact but then change it later (which is understandable when writing such a long story but it does pull from the immersion) like the school not having a dress code despite being a private school, then suddenly it does have uniforms, and Melanie lost her virginity with Daniel when they were freshmen but then she loses her virginity with Damien. Just a couple examples that stood out, in case you’re ever wanting to edit or rewrite for publication. The grammar was sometimes iffy and the Spanish at times was very odd (most notably Jayce’s conversation with his uncle after the murder of his family), and some points like that were just far-fetched. Like, he loses his entire family like that and yeah he’s kind of messed up but he should be completely traumatized and stricken. And instead of Daniel being horrified and mourning for the two young girls he so loved, he only cares about how it effects Jayce. It makes it seem like Daniel shows so very little empathy. The sudden violence of Daniel’s parents towards him when he came out wasn’t very realistic, with the tone you set of them before. Maybe they would disown him, kick him out, sure, but beating him to near death was extremely unrealistic. Then later all is forgiven at his graduation? Noooo. Completely fantastical. Also, whatever happened to the gun Daniel’s dad gave him that he put in his glovebox? That was serious foreshadowing that was just never mentioned again. Also I was looking forward to some serious altercations with Jayce’s ex boyfriend, after he came out and clearly warned Daniel and told him that he looked like a “shiny new toy”. I was amped up into thinking he’d become a serious antagonist but he was barely ever mentioned again. I can’t even remember his name now. And Mia. After what she did we didn’t see anything of her afterwards. I would’ve expected or liked a confrontation after she basically buried Daniel in dirt. At the end it would’ve been really awesome to see Daniel reveal to Jayce that he still wore the promise ring around his neck every day. That would’ve been a beautiful nod towards their relationship and past and continued love, but when it didn’t happen the ending scene sort of fell flat to me, since that’s what I was expecting. You set it up perfectly that they would reunite and Daniel would reveal the ring and a deep meaningful moment would occur, instead of or maybe aligned with the familiar banter they engaged in. You had so many little set ups like that, that I could see perfectly executed, but they never were and it sort of baffled me, honestly.
HOWEVER. Now that the criticisms are out of the way, I can sing praise. I am so, so, so amazingly happy that you made Jayce Hispanic. Not just Hispanic, but Mexican. It was so beautiful and wonderful to see an author break out of the usual gay stereotypes and create a raw, different sort of character from an ethnic background most people would hesitate to touch but you did it with a absolute brilliance. The characters are what engaged me the most and kept me going and my heart aching throughout the story. Daniel was perfect to me, rich, spoiled prep yet he was so easy to empathize with because of those familial expectations and relatable anxiety. His character growth and development was something I rarely see, and you did it beautifully. Ultimatum after ultimatum hits him and he rolls with the punches, stuttering to a painful stop at times before steeling his nerves and leaping the next hurdle. It was very real and heart-wrenching to watch and I felt so immersed with every challenge or new development to his character. He was the most realistic and wonderful thing about this story I think, and I adored his character completely. Now, Jayce... he was so realistic. I don’t know what else to say but I loved him so much. He’s so contradictory to his own self yet that makes him all the more real. His interests and hobbies make him so much more fleshed out and fun to get to know. As a reader it was like falling in love with him as well through Daniel’s eyes. Every little new thing we learned about him made us ever more caring towards him and cheering for the relationship between him and Daniel. One thing that still bothers me a bit though is the revelation of his past. Before, he’d said his ex had pushed him into the relationship and practically raped him. Which is a huge fucking deal. But later when his “real” past was revealed, he almost seemed to admit that he’d manipulated his ex, so does that mean he lied about the abuse and practically rape? That kind of did turn me off to him for a bit, but I tried to move on and just assume that the earlier confession was still somehow true.
Still, I adored him and his goals and his development as well. The ending with him as a father was beautiful and I was genuinely overjoyed to see how he kept his promise and had children with Bethany and that he was happy and healthy with the decision.
Overall I honestly think this is the best “slash”, or gay, romances I’ve ever read. Despite the criticisms, it was truly a heartwarming and bittersweet journey to behold and I loved every minute of it. Thank you so much for all your hard work in this fiction and I truly hope you do decide to write some more gay fiction, the community really does need your special, diverse writing. I’m bookmarking this and hope to see more from you soon. Sorry for such a terribly long response but this is just one of those stories I fell in love with and had to spill my heart out about it. Much love!

This is a wonderful amazing story that had me crying into a freaking pillow asking for comfort from my pet guniea pig who proceeded to only rattle her water bottle. It was an absolutely amazing story.

I was so happy when I saw you did a little more continuation for this story. It's very real. Dunno if I mentioned this before, but THANK YOU for not writing all white characters. Seriously. And the ending was awesome. :) It also gives a bit more closure than the initial end did, so I'm happy in terms of that. And... yeah. Awesome update! I'll be keeping a lookout on your profile for more of your stuff.

Mythical Factuality chapter 34 . 5/9/2015
Hi. I like your story. :) But...
WHAT. THE. F*CK. YOU KILLED HIS ENTIRE F*CKING FAMILY?! Ok, sorry for the caps lock.

Not cool though man. Like couldn't even ONE of them survived?! No doubt you kill off Daniel's sister and brother too. And the best friends. And then there's a steryotypical Romeo and Juliet ending where Jayden and Daniel both commit suicide.

Just shoot me while you're at it. Please.

I bet the evil uptight homophobic parents are the only ones left in the end.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MY CURRENT ANGST. Good job on the story though... I guess you got me to care... so kudos...
