As expected, I don't get it. I want to get it though, because it's beautiful. (to *wander the road)

This just goes to show that there is always a backstory. Sometimes we'll never know what happened or how, but we still yearn to tell what of the story we do know. You are very fond of imagery, I can tell.

Wow, this is great! I know that's not much of a comment, and since I don't know much abut poetry I don't really nknow what else to say, but I keep rereading this poem over and over, and the imagery is really striking.
Well done :)

So. Next to Pursuit I think I like this poem best. Because the imagery of this poem is vivid and consistent. You like mixing images of the divine and wars and stuff but this is just straightforward desert. It feels concise and restrained and great. Good job.
And since I have a thing for endings, I would have switched the last two lines, where the punch comes in with the reader realizes that the man was dangling and dead. But then again that's just me.
I like how you titled it as well. Keep writing!
