Reviews for When Harper Met Jamie

I love how this all unfolded. :)
Khatira chapter 1 . 9/22/2016
I can't believe it took me this long to review this. This was actually posted on my birthday, and I read it that day, and then forgot to review due to life. Ah well... this story does deserve one.

This story is a gift. Truly. I love the passage of time, showing the difficulties of any relationship (although being in the CIA doesn't really help, haha!) and overcoming it. I also love the "story" theme that runs through the oneshot. You have a beautiful writing style, and again, like I said in Chai, you have these awesome one liners that are truly gems. This was such a pleasure to read, and it went by pretty quickly.

If I had to critique it, I would say I wish there was a part where we can see Harper and Jamie work through their problems, instead of jumping to the happy ending. But that's about it, really. This was awesomely done.

One thing I will say, and it's going to sound pathetic... I actually really miss your writing. I've read Chai quite a few times, and this one lately (now that I remembered it... yay me. *facepalm*) I know how it is not getting a lot of reviews, since my stories are the same way, but please, please don't give up on your stories. They're too good for that.

Alright, begging aside, I'll finish by saying this is incredible work. I hope to hear from you soon!

Much love,
Khatira

They're moving to the suburbs! YES! Unless I connected the dots wrong. But it's so great to see that Harper didn't give up on Jamie especially when things got difficult. I can't begin to imagine the worry and pain Harper was feeling and I don't think I ever will be able to. I really admire her for being so strong because Lord knows I wouldn't be able to. Thank you for this wonderful story and giving them the ending they deserve. I hope you are still writing and doing well!

Hello again! Melissa here letting you know that "When Harper Met Jamie" has been featured on ADoR. Here is your review:

Melissa Thinks: Harper and Jamie meet in a bar; that is how their story begins. I don't want to give too much away about this story (always something to be cautious of when talking about one shots), so I'll be brief. "When Jamie Met Harper" is about two characters who start an unconventional relationship. Each time they meet, their "story" continues; a story which grows more interesting as each scene rolls by. once again displays a knack for storytelling and crafting stand out characters. I hope more of this author's work gets suggested because so far I am absolutely loving it!

This is just wonderful. Like beautiful. I love the emotions that are portrayed. I also love the idea that they tell each other stories... It makes me want to fall in love with a CIA agent but at the same time not haha. I love how it shows when they meet, dating, marriage, parenthood; it's just lovely :)
Guest chapter 1 . 6/6/2015
That was so heartbreaking but adorable at the same time. As someone who likes bruised mysterious but dorky men, this was the dream. Well done you! Multi-chap, pretty please? :)

I love it! So raw, emotional and yet justified. It was great!

So good!
Addy chapter 1 . 5/24/2015
Beautiful story. I loved that Jamie and Harper were telling their own mini-stories throughout. You created the mix of tension and love so well in the story, so much that I was able to almost feel the pain of the characters (especially Harper) when they were separated. And the full-circle ending: a short and beautiful sense of a new beginning.

Well, I devoured this in no time at all. I love one-shots that show a passage of time - there's something so real about them when it shows the good and the bad of a relationship. I didn't expect Jamie to actually be in the CIA, that was such a neat twist. I felt so bad for Harper, not knowing about that part of his life. I imagine that's really difficult for couples and I loved that you explored that.

And, okay, I just wanted to take this line and put it in my pocket and keep it forever: "He came with a wild story and she was never one to back down from a long read." God, that is just beautiful. And genius.

Please never stop writing. I can't wait to read whatever you decide to post :) Thanks for sharing this!
