I think it would feel better if he is some normal person, instead of someone who is the best of skater who could get model type of girls. That part seems to be unrealistic. I think you are consciously doing this kind of combination as you mentioned in the changing oaths last I personally prefer it that even if he is a total loser in front of whole world, if he could be able to take care of and loyal to the girl whom he loves then he is a hero.
