As short as this story is (and I do enjoy short stories), it had a lot of heart simmering just underneath the surface. It also reminded me of a joke by the great (but vulgar) comedian Dave Attell. He said if you ever see a naked man running down the street, you'd better run WITH that man, because something horrible is coming the other way.

I think this is an interesting idea. I have a sentence as well.
"It's true. The world as we know it has ended... and it was all due to selfies."
