for example, when I was a kid: "The rivers flow down with the tears of the dead, the ground is weighed with poisonous lead..."
now I don't exactly bother with poetry, the newest is from 2 years ago.

I feel this can apply to the classic "average peasant hero" from a lot of stories who get roped into adventures. This is a nice reminder that not all of them (or us) want to be heroes. Some people just want to be normal. Not the best poem, but not as bad as you think either. Just practice more. :)
