Cats are wonderful. They have this strange, magickal allure to them. Personally, I prefer the (shorthaired) white ones too! :)

ACK! You were petting a strange cat? Familiar ones are bad enough! I *like* cats, but still hold firmly to my position that they are evil. I like the last two lines of this poem. Even though though cats are Not Very Nice People, they still always manage to comfort, don't they. I love the imagery in your poem. Paints a loverly picture. Heh. I'm still a dog person, though.
