Came across your stories recently and wanted to drop a note to say I quite enjoyed this one. The pacing is pretty tight, the characters are interesting, the crime setting adds lots of fun flavor, and the sex scenes are very nicely executed. I think you do a terrific job with the dirty talk in dialogue; it's hot without going too over the top or cheesy. I also like the restraint you showed in terms of character backstory, dropping hints to keep us intrigued and shade in the characterization without ever coming right out and telling us all about everyone's past.

(I also read "In Theory" and, while that was a fine read too, it's clear you really grew as a writer and honed your skill in between the two stories.)

Every new story you post is a cause of delight! I always look forward to reading them and they never disappoint. I really enjoyed the darker back drop and morally ambiguous characters; that they were complicated but very likeable. And the whole sexual power play was addressed in an interesting way, that Viking had a slightly similar sexual relationship with the police guy and James on the surface but they were intrinsically very different. Marcel fangirling over them was cute and hilarious.

I had to stop reading for a while because of personal things, but it made the story that much better when I got to read it all in one go! I loved it. I'm lowkey hoping for a sequel, but I know that that probably won't happen. Thank you for putting your time and effort into writing and updating so that all of us can read it .

Ok, I really owe you a review now. Um. This was good. I really liked it, and I must say that I think you've managed the (if I remember correctly) wrangling of two dislikable people into a sweet relationship well. I know I'm going to return to this story in future, as I have with all your work. Keep up the good work!

Hope I'm just impatient today, meaning I'll take another try but not feeling sympathetic to any characters yet except perhaps to Marcel a little. Obviously there are not likely to be any angels in this genre but at the moment my impression is that both leads are jerks.

The mental image of Marcel in his personalised dressing gown and full pjs made me laugh and I got so much second-hand embarrassment when Viking and James saw his drawings! If I were Marcel I would've been pretty mortified, but he seemed to take it well. I was definitely surprised by their business proposal, although it did make sense. I was also glad that James and Viking weren't getting him involved in more illegal stuff.

I find that story endings are always difficult to write, but you really hit the nail on the head. I like how, in the end, it came down to Viking and James' relationship and the simple gesture of Viking taking James' hand in his seemed very important in itself. Overall, I really, REALLY enjoyed this story from start to finish, so thank you for sharing it!

I FREAKIN KNEW IT WAS KAILEY OMGGGGGGGG! But I'm glad nothing happened to her, y'know? Viking and James were quite...nice in how they dealt with her. I was surprised when they were ready to go in to Giles' office all guns blazing, though! That turned out a lot better than I expected as well. It seems like James got a good deal from Giles, about taking over The Frye, but I wonder whether he'll take that offer up. I wonder what they're going to do with Marcel...

Can't wait for the final chapter, but at the same time I'm sad it's almost finished!

I had so much anxiety over this chapter because I just KNEW Kailey was going to walk in. Thank god it was when they were just sat on the sofa (although the whole situation was still pretty incriminating). Viking and James seemed to take it fairly calmly though...I'm surprised neither of them were freaking out about Kailey discovering them! With the end of the story on the horizon I'm really hoping nothing bad happens for either Viking or James, but I suspect there are a few more plot twists to come.

Ooohhhh, Viking's real name is finally out! XDD I laughed at the moment when Viking was "feeling almost hysterical" lol I like him being smitten and all *-* a pity he's gonna leave for some time and I guess the next chapter is gonna be James POV then. Thanks for the update *33*

Oohh, another plot twist. I have no idea who the other undercover agent is at The Frye...I'm racking my brains thinking about all the people who we've been introduced to there. Also, at this point it seems as though James is pretty comfortable in their developing relationship, despite being mad at Viking earlier. I wonder where Viking's going to go and for how long...
