I like how consistent Adeline's character was from start to finish - she never lost her timidity but you also show that she's very determined to see things through when the situation calls for it. As for Colton, I wonder who he is exactly that the Madame trusts him enough with this type of "task"? How did he even get roped into this kind of role? Has he done this before? Does he regularly try to discourage girls away from this type of job? From what little you have shown of him to your audience, he seems like the type to be used to this kind of world - "do what you gotta do" mentality which is why I'm a bit puzzled as to why he had tried to push Adeline away from her choice of survival?

I suspect he has a protective streak (a natural trait or stemming from something else?), in spite of what cynicism he may have developed by now, and that was his way of seeing if she has the grit to withstand even some feather ruffling. Also, I find it ironic how kissing on the mouth is usually seen as off-limits in this line of work (I'm sure there are some who may not mind) but here, Colton does it as if it's nothing. I suppose everyone attaches value to a kiss differently - for some, it's an emotional intimacy bestowed on only those who they choose while for others (like Colton here?), it's as equivalent to the act of sex itself.

If you ever regain your muse for this story, I hope you'll consider these aspects. This one-shot definitely has some more places to go.

I can't be the only one bothered by this ending. I have so many questions and so few answers. Why would you make this a one shot? Why would you torture me like this? I want to know what happens after this. Could you consider making it a full story? Or at least adding a second part? I need closure.

This was really good i really enjoyed it., I wish there is more to answer some unanswered question like Colton motivation and if she does go and work in the brothel. But if that's my biggest complaint then you did a good job. :)
