You... think THIS is the worst thing you've ever written? Seriously? Okay, so I didn't like some of the set-up, but you more than made up for it in this chapter. I've had to wipe my eyes. Twice. This was powerful. And you've been wanting to take it down? The f is WRONG with you?

Okay, apparently it's not what YOU like, maybe - although that too is a mystery because this is exactly the kind of writing *I* aspire to, and you like MY stuff... but when YOU do it, you think it sucks. I'm truly stumped. This was a great chapter. And you hate it. You're weird.

You read mine - I thought I should read yours. This is just part one, and I'm very intrigued. Which is odd, because EVERYTHING about this fic is either: not my thing (aristocratic fantasy), outright loathed (magic), or a total squick (anything that smacks of mind-control). I kept reading only because I wanted to see if you could redeem these attributes. And I believe you have. Now let's see if you can turn it around entirely...

If you lost me anywhere, I did kind of skim over the minutiae of the sex, and didn't even try to picture the arm/leg/whatever positions. Which was a little confusing... it sounded like some of it was doggy-style, but it ended up face-to-face (because you can't kiss doggy-style). I think. But whatever. :)

I really enjoyed your short story! I'm happy Grrrnal and Verran got together at the end but I do wish you had more for this story. Maybe a few more short stories about their lives or maybe a full story starting at the beginning? If not thats fine, I still really liked reading this. I can't wait to read more of your stories in the future.

Well, what do I begin with? The context of the story was interesting. A human & dragon socially unacceptable relationship, 2 different species with potentially contrasting values, slavery, etc... I would have loved to learn more about this society & to read the "before" story. How Grrrnal became a slave, lost his family & was freed? What's the deal with the Revic family, are they honorable people in a sea of entitled "beep" nobles? How does this society function exactly? How much of an impossible relationship would it be? I would have liked to know more about the protagonists before reading a dub-con sex scene. It would have made me empathize more with real characters rather than a generic I'm sorry for you guys & humanity will be humanity, full of ugly bullies always ready to use any power they might have to harm others. I mean, imagine reading about 2 protagonists who were good people, divided by society & who still were attracted to each other. If one or both was already half way in love with the other. There are a lot of good potential scenarios here. Imagine the heavy mix of emotions you would feel then. This scene would have an enormous impact. Right now it's more of a "nice strangers in a bad situation" kind of feeling. So I don't dislike the story in itself, especially since I still have hopes for part 2, I just feel that there is a chapter 0 missing, so chapter 1 lacks impact. I guess I'm a "get to know someone before sex" kind of person, lol.
