Reviews for Night Shadow Classics (Original Series) - Issue 3 |
---|
![]() ![]() All in all, I do think issue 3 has to be my favorite one out of these so far. It certainly had it's issues but it was a fun time and gave some surprising insight on the world. I'm genuinely a lot more interested in these characters than I was before this one and I'm definitely looking forward to where you'll take it all. This was a sweet ending and I think that you handled it really nicely. Good job. |
![]() ![]() Welp. That was eventful. Hehe. I already sent you a message about it but you're really good at making Apple Seed Johnny as cringey as humanly possible. I feel it in my very core whenever he speaks and if I actually went to school with him as my principal, I would not have made it to the end of the year. Lol. That aside, the twist was something I definitely didn't see coming but really leans into the superhero comic book nature of this which I really really like. And the battle was a ton of fun to see both heroes and villains alike going at it. It was cool and I liked it a lot. I think there's hope for Technolocity and friends and I'm looking forward to more of them. Good work. |
![]() ![]() This ended up being a better chapter than I thought it would be. Right off the bat, I'm just gonna get into that I'm actually really interested in the histories that these characters have. Mason and Melody were especially the stars of this chapter what with everything we learned about them and even though Sydney's cool, I low-key ship it. Lol. I'm just very interested in these villains now and what exactly lead to where they are now. What happened when they were kids? This was great. |
![]() ![]() Nice one. I like how we're slowly being into this world and everything. Each of these characters has interesting lives that I can't help but wanna learn more about. Pyro Lad at the beginning had me very interested what with that traitor from their past, couldn't help but feel for Monsoon Girl when he snapped at her. There was a good amount of heart in that one that really made it stand out and it only makes me wanna know more about them and their histories both as individuals and with each other. Technolocity and the gang are also always going to be a treat what with them freaking out over the head. It got a good laugh out of me and I'm loving the classic hero-villain team up that's going down with this one. Jerry, Amber and Nelson we're also fun here and at this rate I do wanna see Chad just to see where it goes. And the ending is sure to lead to some fun. All in all, another good one. Nice. |
![]() ![]() Nice one. I enjoyed getting a little bit of a look at the school. Water slides and Nelson are a fun time. I liked the flashback as it gave a good insight on a lot of these characters when they were young. The fight was also very fun and I especially got a good chuckle out of the whole spraying his goggles thing. And man, that cliffhanger. I loved it. Can't wait to read more. |
![]() ![]() Nice work here, I like getting a little more of Mason's personal life here. Nelson was interesting although him going to high school and sleeping around just makes me wonder how exactly robots work in this world. The principal's message was incredibly successful in making me cringe. I'm charging you for the neck brace, haha. And yeah, this was some good fun and I'm interested in how the rest will play out. Nice one. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Awesome story you got here! I like how the plot is going. If you have some great stories like this one, you can publish it on NovelStar, just submit your story to or |
![]() ![]() ![]() Ooh hoo! Is Garoche Felix? That would be an interesting twist! Now, I want to comment on the series as a whole before I comment on this story. Even though I have only read three stories so far, it really seems to me like you are trying to do a long continuous story with this series. I am guessing this because of the comment in one of the chapters that referenced the camping trip episode. If that is what you are doing, I've gotta say that is really cool! Now, as for the story itself. It was awesome! The action and humor were awesome! I loved the interactions between the characters, especially Melody and Night Shadow. It must hurt them, knowing that they can't be friends anymore. There are so many layers to their relationship, and I love it. Appleseed Johnny was an interesting villain. His while backstory is a mixture of hilarious and sad. Ultimately, I am glad he was defeated in the end. Nelso, who made his debut in this story, was also interesting. I can tell he really changed in the time since he has been in high school. And his final interaction with Chad in this chapter...it was sad, but it was also sweet. And, once again, I like your subversion of tropes that are commonly used in superhero movies. Granted, you did use the monologue done by the villain. However, the role you gave Sydney rocked! I loved seeing her get a chance to shine! She is a really good character, as are everyone else. Overall, you did an amazing job! I will look forward to reading the next Night Shadow :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() That was interesting. For starters, I can tell that you don't like Space Jam. Another thing that I find interesting is the concept of animal surgery. That sounds disgusting, but it also sounds like a form of genetic engineering. It is an intriguing concept. And I gotta admit, it is very creative. Another thing I found funny was Principal Appleseed's backstory. That was surprisingly very sad. He just tries to bond with his students, yet has no idea how. He probably believes that every "millenial" who goes to his school is another dime a dozen stereotype. That part of his personality is part of the reason why I think it was fitting of him to become a villain. Also...holy cow, Sydney! I like your subversion of the trope of the superhero's girlfriend just being a damsel in distress. Sydney, despite not having any powers, can really hold her own. I like that. Lastly, the jokes here were top notch, as usual. I especially liked the ones about them living in a future society. Nice job! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Ooh, this is really nice! You actually gave the Void League motivations for being villains! That is super cool; I like that you did that. And it is interesting to see that Melody, Raven, and Tender still like Mason despite what they do. Seriously, the fact that you gave the villains more depth is probably the best part of this chapter. Second was probably the humor; the fourth wall joke here was top notch, and the whole scene with Virginia and Sydney really kicked it up a notch. Virginia really reminds me of Chloe from MLB. I also wonder what happened to Chad. I bet it is really interesting. Overall, you did a fantastic job with this chapter. I think it was my favorite so far. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Wow, Virginia is a jerk. Just because somebody draws or sculpts something based off of superheros doesn't mean anything! Mason's artwork sounds really well done! Especially the one that he sculpted of Sydney. That was sweet. I find it interesting how you took the time to dedicate each section to a new set of characters. I think my favorite section has to be the one with Mason and the Void League. Techy, as always, was great. And I find it neat that Dunnere found out how to speak with Mason using sign language. The scene with Amber, Jerry, and Nelson was good to. The confrontation with Chad is really being built up. Can't wait to see how it plays out. Overall, great job :) |
![]() ![]() Things have been a surprise here! Appleseed must be a real...eh...a very sour apple seed. I am surprised that he was the one who got his head chopped off and almost nobody noticed that. With him now caught, all I hope for is for him to take a LOT of therapy. Like a LOT. We don't when he'll return one day. I am surprised that Melody used to be Mason's friend. I guess that I'll see why she joined the Void League soon. I have enjoyed this series so far! If you can see this, Spider, I pray that you stay safe from the COVID-19 and I hope you would get some good rest. See you soon! - Cheah |
![]() ![]() ![]() Woah! That's a dark turn around. I am really hooked now. You told me before that this series was partially inspired by Miraculous Ladybug. I can partially see it; the fact that Mason went to school in Paris, the main local of the MLB series, is a neat tie in. Something tells me it was intentional. Nelson is such an egomaniac in the flashback XD. I don't know whether to laugh or pity Mason. Anyway, excellent job :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Already enjoying the first chapter. For starters, the whole concept is interesting. In a sense, we are getting to see Mason's origins BEFORE we see his origins. I am very excited about that. Also, didn't I see Principal Appleseed Johnny in the villain section of your profile? That might be interesting. I wonder what he will do. Hopefully not try to take down Night Shadow with memes hehe. Anyway, good job :) |
![]() ![]() Alright! I think I can see the 4 stories in this one. I really like stories with different parts since it can connect to each other. Pyro and Monsoon aren't going to be happy with what they will see. Of course, the Void League are going to help. This is no ordinary stereotypical villain group. Nelson is still trying to find Chad. My guess? He's likely to fail. And we have a cat fight with Sydney and Miss Rich B*tch! A good combination of mystery, school drama and romance! |
