Reviews for Night Shadow Classics (Original Series) - Issue 6
Ways chapter 9 . 9/20/2021
Another bittersweet ending which I can greatly appreciate. I really enjoyed how you were able to tie everything together in a nice little bow. It was good.
The heart to hearts between Mason and Sydney and Marlon and Clementine were incredibly satisfying. With the happy couple, I can't help but enjoy their development with each other and the fact that they don't completely agree with one another on everything but are still able to come together and support each other where it counts. It adds so much to their characters. As for the twins, nothing short of sweet and I'm happy they were able to make up.
As for the ending at the cooking competition that got a great laugh out of me and I loved it.
This was a really fun one. Good work.
Ways chapter 8 . 9/17/2021
And once again, the day is saved and yet... It doesn't feel as good as usual. And I really like that about this one. Very bittersweet in the way that things were handled and I liked that a lot.
To start with, action as always was great and I really enjoyed the sequence that involved the heroes saving people. One that really stuck out to me had to be the family that Pyro Lad saved. I really liked that he threw some of that anger out at that ass of a dad. The girl also interests me and I can't help but wonder if she'll be more important in the future.
And then there's of course Mark and I'm glad that Jerry called him out for being an ass even as he gave his spiel. I'm sure there'll be forgiveness in there but I'm glad you're not having him outright forget.
And oh man, Sydney getting hurt was something I didn't see coming. You did a great job with the tension and the emotion on Night Shadow was superb, I could feel his sorrow over it all. You did an amazing job there.
And seeing him use his ultimate state was really cool and really added to all that emotion. The only real issue I have is that last time, you made it seem like it had been the first time he had used it so it kinda feels you retconned that fact. Granted, it does make sense that he used it before with how long he's been doing this but that just made me go "Huh?"
But that aside, back to bittersweet endings! Happy that the siblings were able to make up, but man it hurts to see that they were arrested. Mason going down too also stung. But at least the day is saved. It's a good sort of hurt that you left the reader with here. Great work pulling that off.
Ways chapter 7 . 9/17/2021
Nice one!
I greatly enjoyed the action here with the combo attacks here and breathing fire. Seeing the heroes gain more abilities over time is great and definitely keeps combat fresh and fun and full of surprises so kudos for that.
And I'm also happy with Mark's development and curious as to where it goes.
Ketchup King and Mustard Queen also going at it in their mind controlled mess is really funny and I can't wait to see how that battle goes down.
Keep up the good work.
Ways chapter 6 . 9/16/2021
I admittedly don't have too much to say about this one other than it was good.
I enjoyed seeing the date and wow, Mark is an asshole.
There were also a lot of good character moments for the likes of Steven and Alyssa and Lyra was especially hilarious going all in with paintball.
Learning the backstory between Marlon and Clementine was also bittersweet. Context is great but I can't help but feel bad for them. I think you handled the two quite well.
And now I'm looking forward to more. Good work.
Ways chapter 5 . 9/15/2021
Another good one.
Nice to know how Alyssa and Steven met and have even more context with Billy. Quite frankly, I didn't realize that they came from money so that honestly adds a lot of context to them as characters. Steven and Billy especially.
Another point of interest had to be the scene with Melody. She's still very interesting and I always love the more introspective stuff for her. Now I'm beginning to believe that maybe Felix actually is dead and Gavroche is somebody else. Hmmmm still thinking about it.
As for Amber and Jerry, first of all, while I knew that they were hanging out I didn't realize that they both established it as a date to each other. I knew Jerry personally thought so but now I'm curious on Amber's end how she's feeling. It's nice though and I'm glad that things are happening the way they are. Guess this double date turned into an quadruple date. Fun.
And as for the ending with Mustard Queen, I do like them being fleshed out more.

All good stuff. Keep it up.
Ways chapter 4 . 9/14/2021
Another great one. It was really funny.
Well, to start with, I'm happy for my man Jerry making a little bit of progress with Amber and asking for advice from Alyssa. It wasn't the direction I expected but I'm here for it. I also got a good laugh at Alyssa trying to cover up her feelings for Steven.
The scene between Steven and Alyssa was really nice too and I'm glad you're putting more of their emotions on display.
As for The Void League, it was just really funny seeing them do their thing with Mojo trying to cook. Lol.
The same goes for the cook-off between Night Shadow and Ketchup King.
I do like that you sprinkled a little bit of regret in there for KK as well and I'm hoping for the best for the siblings.
And the end with Jerry was nice too and it's good to see more of his family in the present day.

Nice one.
Ways chapter 3 . 9/13/2021
Nice work.
A lot of solid development and worldbuilding in this chapter.
To start with, having Mark in person in the present day adds quite a bit to his and Jerry's character. Also I am very happy to see potential moves being made between him and Amber. I just really like how you give others in the world stuff to do with their own problems as it would've been easy to just do the superhero stuff. It fleshes out the world more and I gotta give kudos to that.
The rest with Ketchup King and Mustard Queen were also just a good time as well. I liked the contrast between the two and their styles of cooking and think you did a good job of showing that.
And it's always good to see Bertram again and while a very casual scene with him, still nice to see him. Mason's flashback was also very effective in shedding light on the siblings and how they're being dumb and I also can't help but wonder what exactly happened with his art teacher with the note of "his true colors."

Great stuff as always.
Ways chapter 2 . 9/10/2021
Solid chapter.
It's always nice to see Sydney doing her comedy routine and I appreciate the introduction of friends of hers outside of the main group we've seen so far. Fleshes her out as an individual really well.
As for the interrogation, you really did a good job of making me feel Atticus' pain haha. The siblings are also still a lot of fun.
And the ending with them has me hopeful for them making up.
Good stuff.
Ways chapter 1 . 9/9/2021
Alright this was a fun start or the issue and I'm looking forward to seeing where this one goes.
Right off the bat I appreciate the little bits of continuity like Mason trying to make it to one of Sydney's shows and the even bigger surprise with the blasters making a reappearance.
I can't help but enjoy the absurdity of this with the military vehicles shooting blasts of ketchup and mustard at each other and their surroundings hahaha. And the introduction with the siblings give me enough information to roll with right from the get-go. Straight forward and to the point, I love it.
Also, I do appreciate the MCU Spider-Man reference what with Night Shadow's live stream. Haha.

Great stuff here. Humor is great as always and a very short and sweet battle. Nice one.
TGN chapter 9 . 12/2/2020
One thing I forgot to mention in the last chapter, visualizing that car crash that hurt Sydney, followed by Night Shadow's Ultimate state was quite a scene to exhibit how NS won't take those kinds of accidents for granted, especially when it involves his girlfriend. It sort of reminds me of Sonic going dark whenever his friends get hurt or worse. But thankfully, Sydney's alright; she and Mason also had an endearing conversation afterward. It was a beautiful scene.

On the other side of reconciliation, Mustard Queen and Ketchup King finally resolved their past issues (at least until the cook-off at the end), but the bottom line is that they're not really considered as extremely evil villains compared to Technolocity. While they do have anger problems, to see them forgive each other and restore their familyhood/friendship was a good ending for them.

Sorry for taking this long to finish this! I'll have to read the other issues at some point, too! Since FanFiction is still being buggy with 503 errors being the new problem, this gave me an excuse to finish this story. Another job well done here!

TGN chapter 8 . 12/2/2020
Their rivalry had completely come to a head when they nearly terrorized their own lives while knocking out Sydney in the process. Luckily, Night Shadow and his team were able to stop the madness. And to see Clementine and Marlon reconcile for a short while, admitting their faults and past that led to their heated arguments, alongside the fact that Technolocity was behind their most recent fracas, that was truly emotional for them. I guess I'll see what kind of fate they'll deal with next!

TGN chapter 7 . 11/9/2020
Again, I apologize for taking so long to get back into this story. It looks like Techno's plan to manipulate the condiment restaurateurs to duel with the emergence of Mustard Queen being mind-controlled and Ketchup King looking for another duel against his sibling. Techno definitely dug himself another hole as he made things worse for not just himself, but for Clementine and Marlon.

I was definitely surprised to see Mark hop into the fray after he tried to ruin dinner plans earlier. Only time will tell if NS and the other heroes can knock some sense out of those guys before their family feud flames up like a burning beef patty on a skillet! (Not the best analogy, but I tried to make it relevant.)

I'm also humble that you even referenced my very first fanfiction in here. You're just awesome, dude, you know that? Anyway, I'll try to finish the next two chapters whenever I can. But at this rate, I'm probably gonna procrastinate and apologize again. Either way, take care!

CH3AHC4AFT chapter 9 . 9/15/2020
Ah crap. Here we go again. Guess that the chaos never end from there. And I nearly forgot about Mojo being in the contest and actually winning!

Anyway, that was a wild and epic story. We get to see Jerry and Mark reconcile, the rivalry between the Ketchup King and the Mustard Queen is over and there are actually two (or was it 3?) more people with their own elementary demons! Can't wait to see more from them.

Also, I wonder how Melody will go with her conflict in her loyalty in the Void League and her decisions in doing what's actually right. I can tell that her visions of Lupin are gonna get worse.

Alright. About to move onto Issue 7. Until next time, keep on rocking!

CH3AHC4AFT chapter 7 . 9/14/2020
Yeah...Technolocity...you REALLY need to check over your toy inventions BEFORE you do an evil plan. That's the point of trying to be a successful villain.

Here we go again with the Ketchup King and the Mustard Queen, but this time with robots! I just hope that they don't get into any more trouble when they are free from the mind-controlling devices.
CH3AHC4AFT chapter 4 . 9/13/2020
And I'm back! Alright. I like to review on what I saw in Chapter 3 and Chapter 4.
Surprised of both the Ketchup King's and Mustard Queen's methods of cooking; one focuses on cooking quickly while the other takes time cooking to get the perfect product. I can tell that both of them are going to fall on their faces in the contest where both quality and time matter.

It looks like the Void League (somehow, HOW?!) escaped. And Technolocity is going to try to recruit two more. Doesn't he know that those two only fight each other and not do any more crimes? And is Mojo really going to do well in the contest?

It looks like Jerry is going to have a blast with Amber (too bad Steven isn't going to come along). I wonder what tricks Mark is up to.
