Reviews for The Shadow Knight Returns |

![]() ![]() ![]() Wow, so a lot happens in this chapter! Where do I begin!? So, I read a little bit of Shadow Knight Books 1 and 2, so I'm somewhat familiar with the character of Dark Shadow. I didn't expect him to show up at all and strike a deal with Asphyxiator and Whiplash. I thought he would be the type of character to go after Shadow Knight alone, but I wonder what he's planning. Then there's the scene Drake and Maya Ghoul and man, what a scene that was. It's clear Maya has different ways of ruling the city than her brother does and it makes me wonder how that will effect their relationship down the road. But they need to worry about that that technician plans to do with Killerwatt the Electric Man (I LOVE his name by the way, classic supervillain name, I love it!) There were a few instances where Asphyxiator's name would be spelt with a lower case letter and when Whiplash says, "Those sons of bitch's" he should have said "Sons of bitches". Other than that, this was a great chapter that gives us some info about our villains. Can't wait to see what happens next! Until then, take care of yourself and stay safe! :D ~SD321 (SpiderDom321) |
![]() ![]() ![]() First off, I am so sorry for the late review of this chapter. I swear, I thought I made one but when I was about to read Chapter 8, I checked to see if I did review this one but I didn't. My apologizes as school's been up by ass lately and I've also been focused on making Night Shadow & Ballin' Pranksters. Night Shadow's gone through some chances, but I'd rather not disclose that information here. :) Man, this chapter is painful to read through. Shadow Knight's trying to be nice and explain what happened before superheroes died and the apocalypse happened, but Rebecca clearly doesn't care and keeps calling him Meta. She just had to push his buttons, didn't she? But I can't blame her since she clearly had some bad experience with metahumans. Wonder what her story is. :) Speaking of Rebecca, I wonder if she's really going to escape and find Kaylie while Shadow Knight deals with the bad guys. She could escape if she wanted to, but something tells me she'll go down there and help him. Great chapter, my friend. Didn't see any spelling or grammar errors, so nothing to critique. Let's see what happens in the next chapter, which I will read right now :) ~SD321 (SpiderDom321) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Okay, so I'm gonna be honest, I chuckled once I saw the names "Pyros and Mason" show up because it made me think of my own Night Shadow series. Since you've read it, you obviously know the joke: Mason Moonstone is Night Shadow and there's another character named Steven Adara aka Pyro Lad. I doubt that was your intention (it'd be funny if it was) to make me laugh like that, but I did. :) So, a lot goes down in this chapter, Mastermind explains that Bone Breaker not only had a wife but he had two other wives, that's pretty insane. Seeing as how Bone Breaker's dead thanks to Shadow Knight, it makes me wonder how that will come back to bite him and how Bone Breaker ties into the story as a whole. I'm also curious about Mastermind showing up again. Seeing as how Mastermind was a villain (he reminds me a lot of the X-Men villain of the same name and that's awesome), it makes me wonder if he'll eventually team up with Shadow Knight and help him stop the villain or if Mastermind will double cross him somehow. Either way, I'm praying Mastermind doesn't do something stupid, for his sake. I really liked how Shadow Knight interacted with Rebecca. It makes sense the two of them would be in each other's nerves, which makes me wonder how the future of their relationship would go. Especially since Rebecca is taking care of a little child. This was a well done chapter, my friend, keep it up! ~SD321 (SpiderDom321) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Well, I guess you can say Bone Breaker's bones are really BROKEN! Ha-ha! Ha-ha, get it? His name's... Bone Breaker and his bones... are... broken? ... ... ... No? ... I'll see myself out. In all seriousness, I read this chapter a while ago but I was too busy to review and I apologize for that. And I just have to say, this has to be one of my personal favorite chapters (the next one is my personal favorite) because of the dynamic between Shadow Knight and Bone Breaker. I think this is the chapter where Shadow Knight shines the most. I've read the other chapters further one and I can say I am impressed with his character. I thought he was just going to be on the sideline while Rebecca was going to take the spotlight, which wouldn't be a bad thing, but it would make the audience want more of him on screen (not sure what the novel equivalent of on screen is) but his performance in here is in good hands from this chapter alone. I also enjoyed how Shadow Knight was immune to Bone Breaker's powers, that was neat. My one little nitpick is that I think the fight between Shadow Knight and Bone Breaker could have been a little longer. Maybe we could have seen them fist fight and maybe take the fight to the rooftops or something. I dunno, something to make it a little more cinematic and imaginative. But it was a good fight nonetheless. Very great job, my friend! Keep it up! ~SD321 (SpiderDom321) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Love this story! Is this story a possible future of your Shadow Knight series? |
![]() ![]() ![]() Wow! Rebecca really got a chance to shine in this chapter. It would make sense for her to talk to Father Maurice after the chaos she delt with in the previous chapter she was in. One little error I noticed in the beginning was this. "Rebecca Adler, the prostitute who occassionally visited him to talk, take whatever vegtables and fruit he could give her..." It would make more sense if it was "took whatever vegetables and fruit he gave her." Something tells me we'll be seeing Shadow Knight again, as he does have a shadowy figure and has glowing red eyes. Here's to hoping we see more of him and Rebecca interacting throughout the story. Great chapter, my friend! Can't wait for the next one! ~SD321 (SpiderDom321) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Sorry for the late review. School was starting up again and I had my own projects to work on. I wanted to make sure I was free so I could re-read this chapter and review. Really curious how the Ghouls play a role in this story. I am not sure if any of these characters were in your other Shadow Knight stories, but if they were and I missed them, I apologize. I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes. Nice work! ~SD321 (SpiderDom321) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Holy shit! This is amazing! I never thought I'd want to see Shadow Knight in a post-apocolyptic setting before! I have to say, I really love Rebecca as a character. She's starting to grow on me and it's cool that she used to be a prostitute now turned into a woman who wants to care for a small child. But the only problem is, a clan of killers is after her, which forces Shadow Knight to step it. That one scene where SK goes to the preist reminds me of when Daredevil would go to his church in the Netflix show. Makes me wonder of the Raja Men will invade the church sometime soon. If they do, let's say Shadow Knight will paint Lunar City with their blood. Overall, I am in love with these two chapters already! Keep up the great work! ~SD321 (SpiderDom321) |
