Reviews for God Loves You
Sarie Sprite chapter 1 . 3/9/2002
I must admit, I was rather surprised by the darkness of this poem- quite different from your usual fare. While that's not necessarily a bad thing, I must respectfully disagree with the poem's overall message. Despite popular belief, the Bible isn't just about happy-go-lucky saints, but is an epic full of suffering and pain (read Psalm 88- just for one example). This, however, isn't due to God not loving us- it's because man was given free choice in a fallen world. I don't mean to get all preachy about this subject (because it is a very well-structured and emotional poem), but if you're in doubt of the Bible's content, you might want to give it a closer look. It's a veritable tapestry of sorrow, loss, pain, triumph, and hope.
