DREW chapter 1 . 10/30/2005
why does everyone miss the true point of Christianity I follow the path of Love respect integrity kindness and other good virtues that is what its al about not following a supreme being... well actually thats part of this so Im gonna shut up about that but most of the bible is a guide not a law text
Infinite Smiles chapter 1 . 5/16/2004
Great style and content. Well done.
The Crazy Cricket chapter 1 . 7/6/2003
Wow. There are A LOT of common misconceptions in there. And no I am not close-minded or brainwashed because I am a Christian. Would you make the same generalizations and rants about Budhists? Anyway, I can see where you're coming from-I was once there myself-but I do have a rule: I don't diss a book until I've read it. And that goes for everything. Even *gasp* the Bible. The advice in there actually makes sense when you think about, and all those questions you ask about God and such actually have answers to them if you would care to ask.

I still can't say I don't like your style, I just don't like the subject. Whatever. It's what you think, I can't change that.
broken wings241 chapter 1 . 6/22/2003
Dude, I got my own God. Fuck everyone elses.

Completely agree.

Religion sucks.

Osama's a bitch.

Ariel Sharon is a asshole.

The pope is gay.

Alleluia, Amen.
Lyncher chapter 1 . 9/9/2002
...I don't know what to say...absolutely fucking excellent/brilliant/intelligent...etc.
ViEiRA chapter 1 . 5/13/2002
Certainty rather than doubt is the opposite of faith... some people need to realise that. I believe in God, but reckon he gave us brains and it's up to us to use them, rather than just be fed The Answers. Not everything is absolute and even if it is we wouldn't be able to understand it...
XxXidiosyncraticXxX chapter 1 . 5/13/2002
*claps* Hell yeah to all that. Gotta agree with it all. Christianity DOES NOT make any sense.
Stargazr chapter 1 . 5/13/2002
Well (snorts with amusement) that was a very cynical view, to be sure. I do agree that a lot of the stuff in the bible (not that I've ever read the thing, just a simple kids version I used to skip through when I was little) is, as you say "Bullshit". The whole going to hell for eternity if you're not Christian thing etc. etc. etc. And yes, historically Christianity took over a lot of cultures and made people do horrible things. And while I realize this is probably one of those poems where you were just in a really bad mood. I still feel like pointing out a few things. One: take into account the turning of the years and peoples minds. Christianity wasn't always dominant; they had their share of persecution as well in the beginning. And all the Christians I know certainly don't take their bible that literally. Idea's change through time, some things are forgotten and then remembered. If you think about how long our planet has existed (according to science) and how long humans have existed. A few hundred or even a thousand years of stupid rivalry is not a very long time in the big scheme of things. Two: I do realize that there are two testaments (I think that's what they're called) but since Jesus invented the new one (I think) that's the one the majority use nowadays. The basis/root/core of it is, be kind to others. Once you get past all the hooblah and fancy words, that's it. And I think most other major religions have the same basis at the core. I myself am not a Christian, and I'm not trying to make you change your mind or your opinions. I just wish people would look at all the points of an issue. I also agree that you don't need religion to live, but I do think everybody needs something to believe in. doesn't matter if it's complicated belief in the almighty, or a just a belief in love, or even that someday you'll be taller than your older sibling. If you don't believe in anything, not love, not people, not yourself… you must be very sad.
