poohba chapter 35 . 8/19/2003 I *do not* like her mother! |
poohba chapter 34 . 8/19/2003 I was mad a Josh until he showed up at the prom late! How dare he not go and not even tell her that he wasn't going! I'm glad he made up for it in the end. |
poohba chapter 33 . 8/19/2003 I'm glad she came around at the end to see she can't hold him back. If she kept him in New York and he wanted to be in California, then he'd wind up resenting her for ending his career before it started. |
poohba chapter 31 . 8/19/2003 That was a great way for her to tell him she loved him. I bet he must have felt weird all this time, telling her that and not having her respond. I'd be a little embarrased about the baseball announcer telling the whole crowd about it... but that was funny! |
poohba chapter 30 . 8/19/2003 You're not alone about the ending of Harry Potter. I couldn't believe she killed off one of my favorite characters in the whole series! I was depressed after reading it for a day or two, too. That's great that Josh is going to pitch again. I can see Amy is really trying to be friends with Jen, and Jen's not making it very easy for her. But that's completely normal, and you can't blame her. Her Dad could have handled things A LOT better than he did. |
poohba chapter 28 . 8/19/2003 I really liked how that explanation all worked out. And Josh needed to tell her. "I'll never leave you" (!) A couple of chapters ago she was saying she didn't feel as much love for him as he did for her. Is she just fooling herself? I almost want them to visit his grandma so she can decide if Jen has love in her eyes yet or not. |
poohba chapter 26 . 8/19/2003 I'm really starting to get curious about Josh and the big baseball mystery. I have no clue what happened, but I'm very anxious to find out why he doesn't play anymore. That was sweet - with the roses. |
poohba chapter 25 . 8/19/2003 Has Will been stationed on the moon? Why hasn't he been in contact with his sister and mother all this time? Oh well. He seems like a good guy. That should be fun with him and Christy. |
poohba chapter 23 . 8/19/2003 So much for that fairy tale story in the prologue, huh? I'm glad Josh is there for Jen, though. And that he's not taking advantage of her. |
poohba chapter 20 . 8/19/2003 Great ending. I loved how he kissed her and then left... and *then* the lightbulb pops on in her head. I'm glad you let Mark work through some of his grief in this chapter. In the beginning, he seemed to not be bothered at all, but in the middle of this chapter, it was nice that he opened up his heart to Jen. Do you realize that this Amy girl has the same name as Jen's Dad's fiancee? Was that intentional? All the Amy's in this story are evil! |
poohba chapter 19 . 8/19/2003 They give nice Christmas presents! For kids who don't have a lot of money, they seem to do all right. |
poohba chapter 16 . 8/19/2003 A girl I went to high school with got killed by a drunk driver a month before her wedding day, so the emotions of this chapter really hit home for me. It was real. So Josh and Jen are a couple now? That's good. It took them long enough. But poor Mark. Is it going to seem like rubbing it in if they're happy around him? |
poohba chapter 15 . 8/19/2003 That was sudden, and totally unexpected. Mark and Anna seemed almost too good a couple though. Nobody has it that easy. So, I'm almost glad you've given Mark this tragedy to work through. It'll make him stronger, in the end. Why did one of his friends have to tell him the news though? Didn't he know Anna's family at all? Shouldn't they be the ones to break the news? Well, the way you wrote it brought Josh and Jen closer together. |
poohba chapter 13 . 8/19/2003 Jen comes across really snotty and bitchy at the end of this chapter. Maybe she and her mother aren't so different after all. If I were Josh, I don't know if I'd want to hang around her after that. If he's really feeling something for her, a statement like that would hurt a lot. |
poohba chapter 12 . 8/19/2003 That was a pretty mean trick they played on him. Since you mentioned in your A/N how Josh acts really immature all the time, I got to thinking about how that really doesn't fit in with his life story. I think kids that have to face tragedy that young... and especially, like him, have to live on their own and pay their own bills etc... actually are very *mature* for their age. Not that I'm dissing the character. I think he has a great personality, but I'm not sure it clicks with the background you've given him. |
