Anyway, this will have to be my last review for the night. I promise I'll come back and read the rest of this later.

I got some very visual imagery from this little sandlot (mudlot?) baseball game. I could just see Jen prancing around, not knowing what she's doing, like the princess Josh says she is.

He's totally got the hots for her. It's obvious. And do I detect a bit of feeling on her part too?

... And Mark's taken for good. That's sweet, what he said about Anna.

I couldn't help but compare this chapter to the last one, though. Did Josh *really* have to go see a teacher, or was that just an excuse to leave the table like Jen did before?

I was just beginning to think... "How nice. She's actually starting to make friends." And then came the big blow-up.

Josh *is* immature, isn't he? But Mark is taken at the moment...

Josh is such an a**! But I mean that in a good way. He wouldn't be such a tease if he didn't like her, would he?

But I do not like Jen's mom. Did you base her off the mom in "Titanic" or something? She seems to be stuck in about 1912.

I thought I had some pretty bad first days, but mine were nothing compared to Jen's!

What an evil Spanish teacher? He can't cut a little slack to a new girl on the first day of school?

I think it's very interesting how Josh keeps popping up... almost like he's checking on her to see if she's all right.

Wow. Mom's attitude has changed. I guess that's to be expected... seeing as she married for true love and it turned out so great for her...

But telling your daughter to marry for money to get out of living in the slums... In this day and age? (This story is set in the present, isn't it?) What kind of mother is she?

Josh is going to be the romantic interest for Jen? He seems fun. He knows how to take her down a peg or two, but at least he was embarrassed at the sight of a box of bras! That was cute!

I laughed when she explained about her mother and the word "butt." (My Mom always thought that word was half-vulgar too.)

I wasn't expecting this kind of a shocker from the way the intro was written. But, then... neither was Jennifer, was she?

She comes across kind of bratty and spoiled in this chapter. I bet that'll change as the story progresses and she has to go through all these changes!

This is really good beginning. I like your writing style. It feels a bit like we're reading this girl's journal. Her voice really comes across, and you gave us just the right amount of details to get us curious about her life.

And then... the cliffhanger. I must read on to find out what changed everything for her.

ack! ack ack ack! I think I just about choked right about there! ok, can her mom spell INSANITY? how they heck can her mom even THINK of something like that? *ahem* anyway, way to put a twist on everything. I never even saw that one coming, although now that I think about it, I kinda knew that something bad was coming. O I hope this gets fixed fast! Hope the update is soon!

what do you mean an epilougue? you're just going to cut off Josh and Jen's realtionship? that destroys the plot! how can you make amends in one chapter?

DUDE, this was good. But she can't marry the rich fellow..WHAT ABOUT JOSH! Poor joshy woshy! It will break his HEART! Don't break his heart...his achy brakey heart...

I was kind of expecting her mom to find someone for her, when she said she is going to this important meting. I wonder how will everyone react to that, and especially her father, Josh, her bro, and herself.
