i know very well kid rock and eminem grew in the same city, realize kid rock sings about bitches, cars and money, eminem does not unless it affects something important or he's obviously joking, and there's is the difference. i grew up in an area similar to that of detroit's lower income areas, i'm not a sheep, kid rock generally says nothing the average 12 year old around there couldn't tell you off hand. furthermore musical influence has little to do with the message, an artist doesn't say something because of the way he's saying it. using words like "sheep" or "perceptive social commentary" doesn't automatically give you credibility, i hope i'm not the first to have to tell you that.
i appreciate intelligent negative feedback btw

Yeah, I agree, but I still hate pop (suz it's too repetitive. The only song with one phrase repeated over and over worth listening to is Song For Guy by Elton John. It's only words are "life isn't everything.")

I generally agree with you, although I would point out that Kid Rock and Eminem grew up in the same place: Detroit Michigan. They come from roughly the same background, but have extremely different musical influences.
What you say about Eminem generally stands up for Kid Rock as well. The songs that aren't as popular, aren't a 'Cowboy' or a 'Bawitdaba' are actually rather perceptive social commentary.
Don't be a sheep, don't take was a person (or rather, his company's marketing staff, whom he has very little control over) represents themselves as at face value.
Just my 2.5 ¥

YAY! Finally, someone who can like a song without memorising the lyrics to it all!
I can see what you're saying. Thank you for writing. I like mainstream, but not all of it, and i'd rather listen to the lyrics than the chorus.
Thanks for writing. Great point of view, and...well, great!
